During our discussions of the NE 85th St. Station Area Plan, several people asked for more information about the topics below.

Highlands Zoning: No Highlands zoning changes are being proposed for the Station Area Plan, but which parts of the south Highlands are already zoned for medium-density residential? What are the rules regarding attached and detached ADUs on single family lots? Should the city require developers to develop to the zoned density (rather than, for example, building one large home on a lot zoned for two or three units)?

Missing Middle Housing: What is it and what are the benefits?

Housing Strategy Plan: Kirkland's Housing Strategy Plan identifies a variety of changes the City can make over time to realize its housing goals and policies. Stakeholders from throughout the community were on the Housing Strategy Advisory Group. Form-based Codes: What are they, and how could their use impact future development in Kirkland? What types of development do they apply to? Do they preclude design review?
