Your Design Input Requested

The public is invited to an open house on Thursday, February 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kirkland Justice Center to learn about the Totem Lake Pedestrian Connector Bridge, a proposed bicycle and pedestrian bridge connecting the Cross Kirkland Corridor with Totem Lake. This is the first of three drop-in style open houses the City will host over the next year to seek community input on the design of the bridge.

The span will connect two sections of the Totem Lake Urban Center and the two ends of the Cross Kirkland Corridor, currently separated by Northeast 124th Street and Totem Lake Boulevard. The City hopes to create a landmark design and welcomes the ideas of the community to make this happen.

Read more about the open house and plan to attend to ensure your input on this iconic Kirkland structure.

Thank you Volunteers

 Green Kirkland volunteers

The Green Kirkland Partnership wants to thank the many volunteers who participated in the “Day ON” event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Seventy-four volunteers gathered at Crestwoods and Everest Parks to help clear invasive Himalayan blackberry and English ivy from the forest, bringing the City another step closer to seeing healthy and resilient forests in Kirkland parks.

These events were organized as a partnership between the Green Kirkland Partnership, the City of Kirkland, United Way of King County, and the University of Washington Restoration Ecology Network (UW-REN). Groups participating included Yesler/Projectline Services and the Acacia Fraternity at the University of Washington.

Check out the assortment of photos of the events on the Green Kirkland Partnership Facebook Page—and see the Volunteer Calendar for a full list of our upcoming events.
