Please submit ideas for the 2026 Neighborhood
Safety Program to me by Nov. 15. This program brings all of
Kirkland's neighborhoods together on a panel with City staff to
select small pedestrian and bicycle safety projects city-wide. I
am the Highlands representative to the panel this year. There are
always more projects than funding, so the panel's job is to
prioritize the highest safety bang for the buck.
Here are the types of projects that can be funded (total
installed cost must be under $75k, and as you can imagine, that
doesn't go very far these days):
Projects are restricted to City property, including streets, parks, community facilities, and the Cross Kirkland Corridor.
If
you have project suggestions that do not fit the above criteria,
or for any other questions or concerns, use the Our
Kirkland portal to submit to the City's database.
