Southbound Interstate 405 in Kirkland will experience a full weekend closure from 11 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 4 a.m. Monday, June 1, as WSDOT crews cut across the freeway to install a new fish passage tunnel.
Lane reductions will begin as early as 8 p.m. on Friday, and the closure will impact different segments of the highway: the stretch from Northeast 124th Street to North 70th Place will be closed Friday night through Saturday morning, after which the closure will shorten to span from Northeast 85th Street to North 70th Place until Monday morning. Several on-ramps—including Northeast 116th, Northeast 85th, and Northeast 124th (Friday night only)—will also be closed, and travelers should expect signed detours and plan for significant delays.
