Hello Neighbors!
At our most recent Highlands Neighborhood meeting on October
16th, we had several representatives from the City Public Works Department come
and present on the water pressure issues that have impacted the Highlands since
the conversion work this past spring (see here for more details: https://www.kirklandwa.gov/Government/Departments/Public-Works-Department/Water/Highlands-Water-Pressure-Conversion).
If you have been experiencing decreased water pressure since Spring 2024 and
associated issues with appliances, irrigation systems, or other impacts, the
city is working to address them with individual households. To be included in
this effort, please read the text below (and be sure to share this information
with your neighbors):
The City of Kirkland is offering in-home consultations to gather more
information about how the change in water pressure is affecting home
functionality. Results from the consultations will help inform an interim
solution for the neighborhood. For example, one idea the City is considering is
a rebate program for households to install individual pressure booster pumps.
Residents are encouraged to sign up with interest in a consultation using the
form linked here: https://us.openforms.com/Form/cd1a5f4e-9654-4a09-8071-e5d5348160ba.
Any questions can be directed to Carly Joerger, Utility Policy and Community
Relations Supervisor at cjoe...@kirklandwa.gov
Barbara Posthumus (LWSD) and Erica Mascorro (DEIB) spoke at the October 2024 Highlands’ general meeting.
In other news--- the first upcoming deadline for the Neighborhood Safety Program Project Ideas due EOD Monday, December 2. If you have an idea please reply to this email and we will add it to our list!
Thanks to all for another informative meeting. Mark your calendar for our next meetings on January 15 and March 19 and May 24, 2025.
Sincerely,
