How to Remove the Swift Shader 3.0 Logo from Your Games

If you are using Swift Shader 3.0 to run games on your PC that require DirectX 9.0 or higher, you may have noticed a small logo on the bottom left corner of your screen. This logo indicates that Swift Shader is rendering the graphics using software emulation instead of hardware acceleration. While this may improve the compatibility and performance of some games, it can also be annoying and distracting for some users.

Fortunately, there is a way to remove the Swift Shader logo from your games without affecting the functionality of the software. In this article, we will show you how to do it in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Locate the Swift Shader DLL File

The first thing you need to do is to find the Swift Shader DLL file that is being used by your game. This file is usually named d3d9.dll or d3d8.dll, depending on the version of DirectX that your game requires. You can find this file in the same folder where your game executable is located, or in a subfolder named SwiftShader or Shaders.

For example, if you are playing GTA San Andreas, you may find the Swift Shader DLL file in C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\SwiftShader\d3d9.dll.

Step 2: Open the Swift Shader DLL File with a Hex Editor

The next thing you need to do is to open the Swift Shader DLL file with a hex editor. A hex editor is a software that allows you to view and edit the binary data of any file. You can use any hex editor of your choice, but we recommend using HxD, which is a free and easy-to-use hex editor that you can download from here.

Once you have downloaded and installed HxD, launch it and open the Swift Shader DLL file that you located in the previous step. You should see something like this:

Step 3: Search for the Swift Shader Logo Data

The next thing you need to do is to search for the data that represents the Swift Shader logo in the hex editor. To do this, press Ctrl+F to open the search dialog box and select Hex-values as the search mode. Then, enter the following hex values in the search field:

53 77 69 66 74 53 68 61 64 65 72 00

This is the ASCII representation of the string "SwiftShader", which is part of the logo data. Press OK to start the search. You should find a match somewhere near the end of the file, as shown below:

Step 4: Replace the Swift Shader Logo Data with Zeros

The final thing you need to do is to replace the data that represents the Swift Shader logo with zeros. To do this, select all the bytes from 53 77 69 66 74 53 68 61 64 65 72 00 until FF D9, which marks the end of the logo image. You can use Shift+Down Arrow to select multiple bytes at once.

Once you have selected all the bytes, press Delete to delete them. Then, press F4 to fill them with zeros. You should see something like this:
