Inta has planned next annual meeting in Seattle on Shavuos. Shavuos is Sunday, May 20, 2018 and Monday May 21, 2018 and on those days the annual meeting will take place. Is there still a possibility to have them change the date? How can they do that?

Here is the email I received…they are not changing the dates of the 2018 meeting.

Dear Mr. Koffsky,

Thank you for your recent email to Maury Tepper about the 2018 Annual Meeting dates and for pointing out the conflict with the Festival of Weeks. We truly regret the timing of the Annual Meeting next year, but please understand that, as an international organization, INTA makes every effort to avoid major conflicts in its meeting schedules. We are constrained, however, by the availability of meeting space and hotel accommodations in Seattle, and we are not able to change the date for the 2018 Annual Meeting.

We apologize for the conflict, and I hope that you will still be able to participate actively in INTA and to attend at least a portion of the 2018 Annual Meeting.

Thank you again for bringing this to my attention, and rest assured that we will continue to strive to select dates and locations for INTA’s meetings that will be as accessible as possible to our diverse membership.

Sincerely,

Can we ask for a discount as we can only come for part of it?

Not surprised. To be honest, despite the approx 40% of US TM people that are Jewish, I suspect that this only incoveniences a couple of dozen of us.

I emailed Sarah from INTA requesting a discount for partial attendance due to religious observance of Shavuot and she said no to that as well.
