With hindsight, even without considering the advent and popularization of streaming, the traditional media fulfillment and distribution industry was not long for the future. The hotel industry is a good example of an industry with low switching costs, selling services that are easily comparable (think hotels.com), have minimal search costs, and virtually no lock-in methods outside of reward programs created to manufacture switching costs.
