[KinkForAll] NYC: Icon designs for KFANYC3 and potentially for future KFANYC unconferences

Hi everyone,

Remember a while ago I had this idea for a KFANYC icon and was looking for an artist's help?[0] Well, I spread the word among my artsy friends and it was my father who actually returned some designs to me. With his graphic design skill and my artistic direction, we came up with a number of variants for KFANYC-themed icons that we'd like to share with anyone interested in using them. They are donations, entirely original work (save for the KinkForAll flame, of course) and freely released to the public domain by myself and Nick Moscovitz.[1]

I've uploaded some of them to this group's files section in SVG format,[2][3][4][5] but for the sake of convenience I've also attached PNG versions to this email. Here they are. What do you think?

Hi Maymay,

As always, your father's work is fabulous! I like a lot of these - I'll start putting some of them on shirts and materials at the Printfection store. And I'll take requests, if anyone wants something in particular.

I actually also worked out some concept sketches along this idea - they aren't finished, but this may spur me to action. Obviously a very different style from these, but they might make for some interesting juxtapositions. I'll post them once I'm finished as well.

Personally, I like option 2 best, but I think all of these would look fantastic on flyers, t-shirts, stickers, or wherever else we'd like to put them. These also make it really easy to swap out KFANYC"3" for future KFANYC unconferences, merely by changing the text to read KFANYC"4", and onwards. I also think option 4 is a really nice one as a kind of "insignia" style decal or similar, while option 1 could make a pretty bumper sticker.

Again, resolution independent source SVGs are available[2][3][4][5] in the files section. Remix, recreate, and enjoy!
