CHPS and IRB utilize the same electronic protocol submission process for new submissions. You must now use the eResearch system to submit CHPS applications at the same time as eIRB submission or separately.
Out-of-focus photographs and most digitized images often need a sharpness correction. This is due to the digitizing process that must chop a color continuum up in points with slightly different colors: elements thinner than sampling frequency will be averaged into an uniform color. So sharp borders are rendered a little blurred. The same phenomenon appears when printing color dots on paper.
This slider and input boxes (0-255) allow you to set the minimum difference in pixel values that indicates an edge where sharpen must be applied. So you can protect areas of smooth tonal transition from sharpening, and avoid creation of blemishes in face, sky or water surface.
Treatment results are improving for patients who have advanced-stage follicular lymphoma; this progress is in large part related to the inclusion of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody therapy in front-line therapy programs. Rituximab has been combined successfully in chemo-immunotherapy regimens with several standard chemotherapy combinations, and with bendamustine. Post-remission treatment strategies, including radioimmuotherapy consolidation and rituximab maintenance, have had a favorable impact on duration of remission. Thus, although traditional palliative strategies can still have a role in many situations, such approaches must now be placed in perspective with options that have the potential to achieve durable disease control. Recent therapeutic advances have renewed the hope that potentially curative treatment options may be forthcoming for these patients.
