All,

Just a note to introduce myself and say hi. I'm looking to maybe pop out to a meeting now and then. I'm easily convinced if it means the Grad Club. :)

Long time IT/Unix/Linux guy. Installed my first Linux box in 1994 and I've been using it as my main desktop environment as much as possible ever since. I'm a systems analyst here in Kingston, working with Solaris, AIX, RHEL and in the case of my Amazon EC2 stuff, Ubuntu. My laptop waffles between Mint and Arch, though more Mint these days.

I'm also a part-time student at Queen's, second year in an undergraduate Economics program.

As I mentioned in a previous post I started the last rendition of the Kingston LUG in 1999. I believe there was one before us as well, though I'm not certain of that. After running that show mostly single-handedly for a few years and failing to find anyone else to take the lead I threw in the towel. Glad to see there is still something simmering out there. The minimal interest in an LUG in YGK has always perplexed me given the significant student and academic population.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on the list here and plan to come to a meeting in the future.

Cheers,
Mark

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the intro. I hope you can make it to our next meeting (usually last or second last week of the month). We usually hang out on the second floor of the grad club (near the couches). I will be emailling the details for our next meeting in a week or so, so keep your eyes peeled.

See you at our next meeting.

Sarah
