Hi, Here is a more detailed Ice Report for Lake St Louis.
Newly formed plate, very large, about 500 m from shore. 10/10, 3 inches black ice.
Lake St Louis is now locked, so this plate should survive.
Access from St Louis Park is tricky, as some dark patches and ice under the few snow banks is varying from 1,5 inches to 3 inches. Ice not covered by snow is 4 inches +. These spots need to be avoided.
I had to make my way through the clear ice to the new plate. Access form Centennial will be checked tomorrow morning, after this cold night, to see if it is a safer and shorter path to the plate.
The plate has not be fully walked or scouted yet. If anybody is available tomorrow am, give me a call at 514-595-550eight.
Attached are more pictures, and a video showing access from shore.
Thanks, and I would obviously not recommend sailing this ice before it is properly scouted.
