Hi All,
 
I do not have access to the full Kingston iceboater email list but I wanted to pass on some valuable information about ice boat insurance because I understand that several people did not participate this weekend because they did not have insurance.
 
I have researched this issue in great detail and found only one way to get it.  Most house policies do not cover you for racing.
 
If you want to get an iceboat specific policy contact   Andrew Robertson at Robertson and Robertson.  This is a very reputable broker in Toronto who actually when out and found an underwritter to create a policy.

Please pass this info along to all the other iceboaters you know who might like to do some racing.  We will all be better protected if we are insured.

Hi all,
I did a low pass over the harbour around 11:00 today and four or five of you were moving along quite well.
I continued in a large loop covering about 325 kms at 500' to 1300' ASL to check for clear ice anywhere. I am sorry to say that the ice is relatively the same as the harbour everywhere in the area where I flew.

Nice Will! Good to know we, in Kingston have sailable ice.

Good day on the Kingston water front with 12 boats out and 8 on the race coarse.
