Hi,
Plate hold well following the last two days strong winds.
Here are pictures of the surface. Plate is now 4 to 5 inches black ice, with some areas with orange peel following the rain.
There are a few new cracks that appeared, but they seem sealed. We just walked the first 200 meters as the wind was pretty high,
Ice should be properly scouted to make sure no new cracks have appeared and that it remains big enough so we can get a safe 1 mile course.
I would now rate it a 8.5 to 9.
The white crack is very close to the border of the plate, and would be solid enough and smooth enough to sail through at reasonable speed.
Access to the plate remains St Louis Park or Centennial Park in Beaconsfield. The grey ice plate leading to the good plate can be sailed through with our any problem (grade 6)
