Free Half-Term Childrens' Photography Workshop 


Feb 15th - Feb 20th

 

 

 

Some Cities CIC and Birmingham City Council presents free photography workshops at multiple locations around the city for 5 to 12 year olds to celebrate 2016 as The Year of Arts and Young People in Birmingham.

The workshops are designed to help improve the skills of all participate and to help them enter their photographs in the:

THE HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS: THROUGH YOUR EYES PROJECT

Workshops will have a range of activities that will help each participant think and explore how they view their community in fun and interactive ways.
All workshop participants must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Workshops will be run by DBS checked facilitators.

The workshops are in multiple locations around the city
(please note only the first and last events are taking place at Birmingham Open Media the remaining events will take place at The Old Printworks, 506 Moseley Road. B12 9AH)

The Hundreds and Thousands: Through Your Eyes project:
 
 We want to know how you view your community?
 
We want to see Birmingham: Through Your Eyes.

 
The Hundreds and Thousands: Through Your Eyes project is led by Some Cities CIC, alongside Birmingham City Council. It is part of a whole host of things happening to celebrate 2016 as The Year of Arts and Young People in Birmingham.

 WHERE DO YOU SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES?

COMPETITION DEADLINE:
February 29th, 2016
 
HOW MANY WILL BE CHOSEN FROM THE ENTRIES?
 100 photographs will be chosen for the exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
This decision will be made by Some Cities CIC & Birmingham City Council.
 
THE RULES
•    Entrants must be between 5 and 12 years at the time of submission
•    All workshop participants must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
•    Entries must only include original content.  Each entrant therefore, takes any responsibility for the material they submit. No matters related to copyright and Intellectual Property shall be the responsibility of Some Cities CIC or Birmingham City Council.
•    Entrants give permission for Some Cities CIC and Birmingham City Council to use their shorts once they’ve been submitted, including for marketing, exhibiting and online use.
•        Please give contact details with your uploads. Please add the details of a responsible adult in the “message” box when you submit. Details are for data monitoring and will not be shared elsewhere.
