Hall Green District Convention - 30/1/2016 9.30am - 1pm at South and City College, Hall Green Campus

 

Dear Friend

 

The annual Hall Green District Convention will take place on Saturday, January 30th 2016 9.30am – 1pm at South and City College- Hall Green Campus in the main college hall.

The main theme running throughout this year’s convention is Forward Together  with the emphasis on an action focussed approach – with residents and community groups and the city council working together to improve the District. The background paper is attached for information.

A broad outline of the morning is below

 

 

  • 9.30am Reception and Networking

 

  • 10- 10.15am District Chair Welcome and Introduction to the Day

 

 

  • 10.15- 10.30am Presentation on Road Safety Interventions

 

  • 10.30 – 11.30am   Ward based Roundtable Discussions re Neighbourhood Challenge – Coproducing Road Safety. (led by ward members)

Outcome – to produce key local actions

 

  • 11.30-11.45am Feedback from 4 Wards
  •  
  • 11.45- 12.45pm  Thematic discussions using the Forward Together Paper ( presented by Peter Wright at Jan District Cttee – attached)

Introduction to Paper – 15mins

Using the principals within paper around asset based development and social capital – individual roundtable discussions on

-          Economic Theme

-          Social Capacity and Community Theme

-          Wellbeing Theme

All 3 roundtables will be facilitated around (i) identifying key issues and barriers (ii) putting forward solutions to overcome barriers/ pledges

 

  • 12.45 -1pm Wrap up and thanks

 

There will also be IDEA Cards on the day for anyone to put forward new ideas/ innovation/ suggestions – Way Forward

 

 

Please feel free to pass on the information to anyone else in the District who you feel would be interested in coming along.

There will be no pre-registration – just turn up on the day and be prepared to get stuck in.
