I experience the same behavior that you shared where I was actually active in the mobile app but my status icon in the conversation does not show the icon. However, it is not constantly reproducible and it will just go away after I set my status back to Online.
Can you please share the Mattermost Server and Mattermost iOS app version that you are using so I can try to reproduce it since you mentioned that it always shows that you are offline and connecting?
Sorry I am new to Mattermost and not sure I should share the server I am using as unsure of the risks of giving this information out. Hopefully you can review what I have written and provide insight should you see a common thread.
2. When I select the dropdown next to a file, there is a Delete option. When I click that, it says "Are you sure you want to remove this file from your Dropbox?". I do not want to delete it from the Dropbox that is out there on the internet and is on my desktop. I assume that answer is "no".
When I did some, I saw that the amount of cache increased. When I cleared it, the total amount of space on the phone did not decrease any. How do I realize the free space from not having those files available Offline?
Thank you. I have now un-Offlined them one-by-one and cleared the cache. I cleared some other cache locations I could find before that, and a few maps, and freed up 700kb of storage, which took me out of danger, but just barely. When I un-Offlined the rest of the files, which show as 50mb on my desktop, and cleared the cache, I now have another 3gb of free storage, lots of space.
This is horrendous UX. I have hundreds of offline files that were marked offline in bulk by accident. Removing them one at a time will take ages. It looks like I'll have to uninstall Dropbox
UPDATE: clearing app storage (long press on app, app info, storage, clear storage) removed all offline files in one go.
Been getting this error message in my app notifications an awful lot recently. It usually happens after I've added a new file via the share function on my Android tablet, though there may have been other circumstances too. (The most recent one was such a file, but this time the error occurred when I manually set the file to be available offline.) (Clarification--when I share the file/upload it to Dropbox, that part works okay. But it for some reason then says offline files failed to download although that wasn't what I was attempting to do.)
It may be a false alarm message, as when I then force a sync to update my offline files, I never notice it downloading anything new, and that function always seems to work okay (so far). I haven't been offline yet to prove if files are actually available or not, though.
Sorry I didn't reply sooner, this ended up in my spam. The behavior seems to have resolved itself (I assumed it was fixed as a result of my post), though I just went and cleared the cache anyway, it was quite big.
I can't find a "Use data for offline files" option. I have "Allow background data usage" (this is turned on) and "Allow data usage while Data saver is on" (turned off). I don't think I use data like that anyway...? I'm on a tablet (not phone) and use a private home WiFi connection. (Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, I don't really understand roaming and data and how all that works.) I've never fiddled around with those settings.

1. The specific error message. I created a test file in an HTML editor app, shared it to Dropbox (successful), refreshed my Dropbox homepage so it appeared, then selected the option to make it available offline via the three dots menu on the file. I then got the error message.
I'm getting the error message when selecting the option to individually make files offline, from the three dot menu. I then go to the "Account: Offline" part of the app to force a sync of all offline files just in case. That gives me no error.

In today's exceedingly connected world, it can be easy to forget that having access to the internet isn't always possible. However, Appian knows that many organizations face this struggle daily. Whether it is performing an inspection in a remote location or checking in at an off-the-grid site, we know how important it can be for users to retain a seamless Appian experience, even when offline.
Offline mobile allows some of the most important functionality in Appian for mobile actions and tasks, whether the user is online or not. Powerful features such as task reports, cascading dropdown lists, wizards, conditional content, and validations are all possible with offline mobile.
To see which components and functions aren't compatible with Offline Mobile, go to the Appian functions table and change the compatibility to Incompatible or Partially Compatible with Offline Mobile.
I recently bought a Sync up tracker. It has randomly gone offline randomly a couple times. Battery still has 30-40% charge when it does it, and the only way I can get it back online is to put it on a charger and hold the power button down. It happens after the tracker has been stationary for 2-3 days. Anyone have thoughts on what causes this?
An application update occurred on or about March 3, 2023. A few days later, the SyncUp device began going offline each day. No matter how long the device was in motion and no matter how many miles the SyncUp device traveled, the device would never go online again without performing a number of steps including, deleting and reinstalling the application, deleting the device from the app, and cycling the power on the device multiple times. Identical problems occurred over the previous few days with a refurbished replacement SyncUp device sent to me by T-Mobile under a warranty replacement.
I spoke with an advanced technical support representative from T-Mobile about the issue. The tech rep said that at least some of the SyncUp devices failed to receive and/or properly load the update information associated with the early March application update. According to T-Mobile, another application update is currently in the works that will hopefully fix the issue.
I just bought a bundle of 3 this past weekend, installed them and was very happy with my testing...initially. 1 day later I used the app to share the device statuses with my wife. All was well again... 1 day later all 3 device configurations have disappeared from my phone. I called tech support and they said they were not aware of any issues. They obviously have not read these comment chains. It's a great idea but I guess either the hardware or software is lousy. I'm bummed but it won't keep me from returning the devices.
My syncup trackers seems to be failing as well, I have three active tractors working on equipment that I own. Sporadically , it asked me to enter the IMEI numbers or scam the QR codes like im setting up new trackers on this account. Very frustrating because the equipment that I'm tracking is my livelihood and not cheap. Any moderator or T-Mobile technicians that monitor this page, can you help or assist them what's going on ! I remove the app from my device and also cleared memory and cache. Sometimes it comes back online and shows me the real time location, then I attempt to update and it's not updating and not showing the true locations.
I am having difficulty using related rows and get this error "Unable to update Mobile Offline Profile item relationships" when trying to set to related rows although sometimes it will work. I understand there are likely relationship references that may have to be obtained.
I struggled with this as well. Some entities that Microsoft included in the out-of-the-box Offline Profile are automatically enabled for Mobile Offline, so I assumed that any entity Microsoft added to the Offline Profile already had Mobile Offline enabled. This is not the case.
In order to make use of relationship filtering, the entity must be enabled for Mobile Offline. This error indicates that it is likely not enabled. Here is a link to MS instructions for mobile offline entity enabling: docs.microsoft.com/.../setup-mobile-offline
I have created a mobile offline profile for a canvas app in Development environment and works as expected. I added this profile and its tables in a solution. Checked and exported ok but fails to import in another environment with following message:
