Unlike more modern Grand Theft Auto games that rely on the phone as a hub for cheats, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas requires the player to input the code while playing the game. There's no cheat screen and you can't input the codes via the pause menu.
Once you know the code you want to input, press the correct sequence of buttons in quick succession while in-game. Not that it really needed one, but with GTA 6 now looming ever larger on the horizon, the franchise is experiencing a huge surge in popularity, which has led to the demand for GTA San Andreas cheats for Android skyrocketing in recent months. To help meet this demand, this guide has been updated to include more information about mobile cheat codes as well as a clearer explanation of how to use GTA San Andreas cheats on Android devices.
In order to use GTA San Andreas cheat codes on mobile devices, players should touch the mini-map in the top left-hand corner of the screen to open up the main menu and then navigate to the Options menu. From there, they'll want to head to the Accessibility sub-menu and choose the "Enter Cheat Code" option. Before you start using any GTA San Andreas cheats, you should make a save and ensure you keep it safe to return to later. This is because some of the effects they produce can become permanent, which may make further progress through the story difficult or even impossible without starting again from scratch. If you're on a recent version of the game then using Grand Theft Auto San Andreas cheats will also disable trophies or achievements, which obviously isn't desirable if you want to complete your collection of awards.
Entering GTA San Andreas cheats on consoles involves following the series of button presses listed, during regular gameplay and not while in a cutscene or paused. Bear in mind that these buttons will still perform their assigned actions while entering Grand Theft Auto San Andreas cheats, so you might want to enter them at a distance from pedestrians and vehicles just in case. Cheats in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are similar to those of its predecessors, requiring input of a series of controller button commands or a keyboard. When a cheat code is successfully entered, a "Cheat Activated" message will appear on the upper left corner of the screen to confirm the cheat has been entered. The following cheat codes must be entered during gameplay. Entering cheat codes on the pause menu will not activate the cheat unlike its predecessors.
Note that the PlayStation 2 and Xbox require the use of the D-Pad (up, down, left, right), (NOTE: this is not the analog stick) for directional input. For the PlayStation 3 port of the game, the triggers that need to be pressed must be pressed in the opposite way. For example, where one would normally press / in a cheat, they must press /. (e.g. would be the correct input for the PS3 port of the game of the "Unlimited Ammo" cheat.)
On Android or iOS: Connect, the keyboard for the smartphone uses an OTG adapter; however, if OTG mode is not supported by the device, a wireless bluetooth keyboard can be connected. Alternatively, third-party applications can be used to enable the virtual keyboard, such as "iGame keyboard".
Note: Enabling the "Health and Armor" cheat during the bike chase of Just Business and during shooting from the car in End of the Line will fail the mission, destroying the bike/Feltzer (End of the Line), and CJ will eventually be Wasted.
Note: Pedestrians can also make a super punch attack. If a pedestrian punches CJ, he will be instantly killed. However, if the Unlimited Health cheat is activated, super punches do not affect CJ.
Note: Invincibility is unreliable and occasionally turns itself off after cutscenes, inside the car when just finishing dates and missions or if Carl's inside the car when the cheat is turned on. The player has to exit and re-enter the car to re-enable the invincibility, or else Carl's car will blow up when blowing up another car. Also if the player disables this cheat while inside the vehicle, it will become all-proof and also not destroyed when using cheats "Blow up all vehicles". If the vehicle is stored into the garage, it will immediately lose its' fire and damage-proof qualities, but retain the bullet-proofing and explosion-proofing.
Note: Unlike previous games, this code can be turned on and off at will. However, keeping it on may cause problems during the storyline. This code brings up data from the Los Santos Riots except on a statewide scale.
Note: This code changes the all ped acquaintances of the male and female ped types to hate, except for the street criminals, prostitutes, and mission ped types. Madd Dogg will instantly jump off the roof once Carl starts his mission.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is considered by many fans to be one of Rockstar Games' best titles.
