I have the same issue Jay @330248. My computer was stolen and I used Time Machine and then Dropbox to restore it onto a new MacBook Pro. Interesting my Mac folder, was now renamed Mac (2). Always bugged me a little, but not a big problem. I recently decided to stop backing up my Mac key folders (Desktop, Downloads, Documents) to dropbox. However when I go to turn off backup, it only suggests starting backup. As in setting up a new one. I tried this and it created a Mac (3) folder. Oh dear. I opened DropBox Backup (the mac app) and it mentioned I could only edit or access Mac (2) using the original computer it was set up on. This is impossible as that computer is gone. All I want to do is stop Dropbox and move my folders back to their original location (my user folder). I've tried also just manually to move the folders back to their location, but Dropbox pops up an error saying that can only be done within Dropbox. I've tried clicking Alt-H (option-H on Mac) but this also doesn't show me that fabled "Reset OS folder locations" button. What can I do? If I uninstall DropBox from my Mac will it put them back, or leave with the files?

At this point I try to free up some space, so I go to the dropbox folder in my Mac, select the attempted backup of my computer, and delete it. I think it was then that the folders disappeared, but I didn't notice until I was in the Dropbox system preferences trying to make it stop creating automatic backups...tried to deselect the Desktop, Downloads, and Documents folders and save, but then a message popped up saying the folders couldn't be located...

So now this morning comes around, and the folders(Desktop, Downloads, Documents) are back on my computer, along with all my personal folders inside them, but all of my actual DOCUMENTS...all my pdfs of taxes, all pictures, work documents.. are just GONE. Can anyone help me out? where did all my actual files go and how do I get them back??

First off, thank you so much for helping out! None of the files were in the Deleted files page, and I found a zip file of my downloads folder in the trash, ...moved it to my desktop, but opening it revealed it to be a copy of what I found on my computer this morning...all the folders, but all of them are empty. I put some screenshots here with different folders selected as examples..no files in any of them..in fact aside from a couple screenshots I took earlier today. This is how all the folders in my Documents and Desktop tabs look as well..empty!

Update: I found a handful of folders in my Desktop folder that still have files! It's very strange tho..it's as if everything that hadn't synced with Dropbox yet by the time I messed with it got deleted, but whatever small amount of files HAD synced got saved...

I do have one final question! Now that I've found this folder, where is it's proper home space on my computer? Does it go somewhere in Macintosh HD? Someplace else? Basically how do I overwrite/consolidate the folders with missing data currently in my Finder with these new/old folders that have everything?

After using Dropbox yesterday my desktop folder and download folder disappeared from finder on my Macbook Pro. When I start using Dropbox it started to sync and I stopped it, emptied my trash and deleted the files in the sync folder. After this my desktop and download folder where gone in Finder. I searched in hidden files but no desktop of download folders anymore. When going to dropbox.com I see the folders there and have no idea how to get them back to my HD on my Mac. Please let me know how to get the folders back on my Mac. Thank you

I'm looking to migrate from an IMAP email service to our new Workspace for Nonprofits. I've used the migration tool and that seems to work to properly migrate the inbox and inbox contents. The specific account I'm migrating from has a set of folders (a folder with subfolders in one case). The migration tool seems to have created the folder structure but the target folders are empty. Is this the expected behavior? If so, is there a way to migrate folder contents? If not, is there some trick?

@NeilL the first thing to do is search for one of the emails you think is missing - if you've found it you know it's migrated and then you can check its labels to see which labels were applied. Gmail may not follow exactly the folder structure of IMAP as in IMAP you can add folders to your Inbox but you cannot as sub-labels to the Inbox label in Gmail.

@NeilL that means the mails are not migrated at all. Without seeing what you've configured I don't know what to suggest. The migration tool migrates everything you tell it to and only excludes folders if you specify to exclude some folders.

In my case imap had folders like "Archive/Foo". The migration tool created a label by renaming it with a leading underscore: "_Archive" but created the subfolder labels like "Archive/Foo". Emails in Archive where imported and labelled _Archive but the emails in the subfolders in imap were not imported at all (tested with search).

The solution was to rename the parent folder before migration.

Folders is a WordPress plugin that enables users to quickly organize all of their Pages, Posts, and Media files in folders. You can easily drag and drop items into directories and change the folders tree view (hierarchy) as you wish. Looking for some awesome pro features? Check out Folders Pro Plans.

With the Pro version, when you use the folders plugin on WordPress, our plugin intelligently recognizes the posts, pages, custom posts, and media library files and sorts them into dynamically created folders.

Using posts, pages etc? With dynamic folders, Sort out all your posts by date, authors, categories and more! Folders seamlessly integrates with the WordPress interface to intelligently create folders containing your content.
We also have a native integration with WooCommerce, so you can manage your dynamic folders automatically using Folders with WooCommerce.

It provides an intelligent way to organize your data and files without you having to make an effort. This is a great way to manage all your stuff into different folders right after you start using folders.

The bulk organize media feature in Folders allows users to quickly and easily move multiple media files into folders at once. Using the intuitive drag-and-drop interface, users can select the files they want to move, drag them into the desired folder, and watch as the counter increases to indicate that the files have been successfully moved.

With the Pro version, upload a folder structure directly from your computer and replicate it as virtual folders in your media library. The upload folder button helps you upload the structure of the folder hierarchy directly, helping you save a lot of time as you can have a ready-made structure ready to use on folders without putting in a ton of effort and time into creating multiple folders and subfolders from scratch.

In the Pro version, if you use plugins that provide custom posts and which organize them using folders, you can now do that with this feature. simply enable the support for folders for your custom post and voila! you are all set to use folders with your custom post! For example: Use this feature for WooCommerce products, orders, coupons and many more!

Replace media feature, import option (FileBird, Enhanced Media Library, Wicked Folders, Real Media Library, and WP Media Folder), create multiple folders at once (comma separated), option to hide Folders settings from the main menu, bug fixed

Recently, ArcGIS Pro has been unable to see local files, folders, etc. on my machine when attempting to save a project file, add data from local, or attempting to open an existing project file. I have ArcGIS Pro version 2.7.2 installed and my machine is running Windows 10 Enterprise Version 20H2. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, then let the program update itself to the most recent version. When installing, I have selected the option to allow the program to be available to all users. If I run the program as an administrator, the file explorer functions as expected but this is not a workable solution for me at this time.

I had same exact issue. I removed my folder connection(s) in ArcGIS Pro- Catalog Pane. Then I re-created the folder connection one level up, and now I can see the folder I was looking for. The first time, I created the folder connection, I set it to the subfolder that I wanted to access, but then it becomes tricky trying to access that folder using Save-As. So what worked for me was setting the folder connection to a main directory that has all of the subfolders that I will need access to, but not setting the folder connection directly to the subfolder itself. Hope that helps.

Currently the only way to view template folders is "All" view. When switching to the "Owned by me" view, it only shows the templates, not folders. This makes it hard to keep templates organized. Please include folders I've created in the "Owned by me" view.

The entire point of having a folder system is to sort the data in an organized way. Currently, when users want to look at their own folders - they can't? Not sure how a 'folder' feature gets released to end users without the basic functionality of (drum roll)....viewing and sorting data under folders! Even when the filter is set to view all templates - the folders are just mixed in with the other files not associated with a folder.

Agree with this idea! Since you can't create subfolders or folders with folders today, in order eliminate the noise and amount of templates/sequences and folders displayed when "Any" for the Owner, I can filter based on "Me" or anyone else. However, when you do so, the folders disappear and all templates or sequences that were once categorized/filtered in each folder are all displayed, making it very cumbersome and difficult to manage. This "Folders Within Folders" new feature request would help and perhaps not need it, but this would still be helpful until that folders with folders feature is here and even afterwards for the same reasons above.
