My previous Samsung TVs have all had the ability to edit the channel list, for example, move all the HD channels to the top of the list, so when I click 1 I get BBC 1 HD, when I click 2 I get BBC 2 HD etc.
I have the same tv and have the same issue. Have tried 3rd party sites and can edit the channel list but am unable to load the new list to the tv. Really poor for a new tv not to have the ability to edit channel list!!!!!
I have exact same issue for NU7100. Even third party SAMYChan has no option for N series (2018 model). There is no option for Transfer Channels, management of favorites and sorting channels is horrible, needs hours and hours to set hundreds of channels in favorites!
Have you just bought a brandnew hightech samsung television? Congratulations. Sorting the favorite channels is probably one of the first things you do. Nowadays, specially with hundreds or thounds of channels, this task can be a very cumbersome. Moving channels by using the remote, e.g. from #343 to #23, takes some time. To make things easier, i have written this tool. With SamyCHAN you can organize your channel list very comfortable.
I have two other Samsung TV, different models and when I export their channel list the file is a "scm file" which I can open and edit with a small programme called SamsChannelEditor but this programme does not recognise the zip file even when extracted. Is there any way I can edit the zip file and if not what is the point of being able to export it. Thanks all.
I don't know that you are referring to another TV? I want to edit the channels on my PC since I have most channels multiple times, resulting in thousands of unneeded channels in no particular order. Sorting this on the TV would take me days / weeks hence why I need to export it to my PC to edit it there.
Samsung TVs suck when it comes to sorting the channel list. The work-around is to transfer the channel list to a PC and edit/sort it there. To edit the channel list on Linux, I found a tool called "SamyGO ChanEdit" quite useful. Downloadable via this link.
So I finally picked up an antenna - Mohu Leaf 50. Auto scanned my area and found 39 channels. Looks like the main channels are all available and quality looks good. Don't even know what some of these are. There are more than a few 480i channels, most of whom appear widescreen, yet don't appear stretched.
Issue is that the channel list appear to be random, I assume in order of how they were found. My TV is a Samsung PN64D7000. I've seen some posts on editing channel lists on Samsung TV's but they expect that you can go to the menu channel section and select export to USB. I don't have that option available under channels.
Anyone know how any other way to edit on Samsung channel lists, or is the export feature elsewhere? Googling this issue just brings up TVs for sale. ([sidebar rant] Google seems to be forgoing accuracy in searching these days).
The version is 0.11.160.1017 Beta, Samsung Channel Editor is a desktop application for editing a channel list from your Samsung TV. Now sorting channels should be much easier. Features: 1. Support Samsung C and D Series. 2. Works with scm files directly. 3. Support for multiple channels configurations: * map-AirD * map-CableD * map-SateD * map-CDTVVD *...
One of the things that really annoy me is how - even modern - TVs scan and display TV stations on first run. It is usually a big mess with TV stations listed on first come first serve basis and not on a logical sorting order. If you then try to sort the television channels with the remote, you will notice that it is not a very pleasant thing to do. First, you can only move one channel at a time and that usually requires you to press up and down buttons multiple times until you have reached the new destination. Second, it takes a long time, especially if you need to bring order to 50 or more television stations on your TV.
If you have a Samsung TV that supports the exporting of the station list to an USB Flash drive, you have another option. You can use the free Samsung Channel Editor software on your PC to edit all stations in a comfortable environment.
The application supports Samsung C and D series TVs right now, but you may want to give it a try even if you own a different Samsung TV as it may be compatible with the TV nevertheless. Most devices should display a "transfer channel list" option or similar option in the menu. Here you simply select to export to USB to save the current channel list to the connected USB flash drive. When you are done with the editing on your PC, you connect the USB drive again and select the import from USB this time. This saves the edited channel list to the TV so that it becomes available on it.
The program itself is easy to use. It requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 but has no other dependencies and does not need to be installed. Select File > Load to load the channel list from the TV channel file on the USB drive. The program should display the channel list afterwards which you can sort by dragging and dropping channels around. Once you are done, click File > Save to save the edited channel list to the USB flash drive again.
The program is not the only tool available for Samsung TV owners. SamToolBox is another program that you can use for the purpose. It is compatible with the B-series to E-series of Samsung TVs and supports multi-row editing among other advanced features like channel filtering and exporting to csv format that you may find useful.
The program is furthermore available for Windows and Linux, and the developers have promised a Mac OS version in the future. SamToolBox is an advanced program that offers a wider feature range than Samsung Channel Editor. That said, both programs handle the job of sorting Samsung TV channels on your PC just fine.

With Samsung Smart TV parental controls, you can control which channels your child can access with Apply Channel Lock and Channel Lock Settings. Also, you can add channels to Favourite lists to help children find the right channels easily.
I found this post on the Whirlpool forums which explains what's happened though. All of the individual cutt.ly links from the DeltaSr95 github were removed in favor of one large combined list. There is also an xml.gz link which provides pretty good guide data, I'm seeing channel logos and descriptions, but no poster art for movie/show/episodes. Can't beat the price though!
m3u4u is a great way to take a "peek inside" an m3u to see what channels will be offered before integrating it into Channels DVR. Over time I've also gathered a rather oddball collection of (yes, free/legal) m3u's which made Channels DVR webUI a little awkward to manage so being able to consolidate and clean up my various list(s) is very welcome indeed.
Hello! I read the note above about free and ethicalish. Do people run this with a VPN? I assume that is not necessary, since these are freely available with apps or TVs or whatnot. I even have a Plex Pass (paid) and Pluto (login) account, etc., so not against paying or subscribing but love having it all in one app. However just wondering if there is a concensus on this topic. Channels with local content and this freeview stuff is basically the cord cutters dream and seemingly safe. Also., to piggy back on the free and ethhicalish, is recording for personal consumption okay, I guess if first Q is okay, saving for own viewing is fine to, similar to an "digital" VCR??? I basically just want a few channels from each of these providers and this is perfect for guide/TV people. Thanks for any feedback and thank you for those curators that keep this maintained.
To transfer a channel list, do the following: Broadcasting > Channel Settings > Transfer Channel List
Imports or exports the channel map. When the PIN input screen appears, enter the PIN.
You will need to connect a USB storage device to use this function on your TV.
The channel list is exported and imported as a .scm file (channel_list.scm)
The exported file will always be written to a fixed file name that matches your TV model. If this already exists, it will be overwritten without requiring confirmation.
SamyCHAN
Have you ever had the problem sorting your channels on a Samsung TV? Editing all the channels by using the remote can be annoying. Especially if you need to do bigger changes to your channel list. SamyCHAN is the solution. You can download your channel list to a USB-Stick and open it with SamyCHAN. Now you can easily edit all your channels.
SamToolBox
SamToolBox is a powerful Channel Editor for the Samsung TV. This is open-source software.
It provides the following features: SCM archive file support for all TV Set generation (B-Series to E-Series), Stand-alone channel map file support, Multi-Tab edition, Channel map sorting based on a reference channel list, Easy channel filtering, Display various database (Transponder, Satellite, Service Provider), Edit capability (Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Swap Channel, Add Channel, Channel number increment and decrement) with multi-row selection support, Easy build of Favorite channel lists using Cut&Paste and Export of opened maps (CSV format, Reference channel list for Channel sort function).
Creating a .scm file
The TV will create a directory on the stick, containing various data files, which cannot be edited directly. You need to select all the files and add them to a .zip archive (where the files are listed directly in the zip without any subdirectories) and change the file extension from .zip to .scm.
When finished modifying your channel list you need to unzip the .scm file again and put the files back in the original directory on your USB stick.
