A few years ago we hosted a series of games for our guild. While people did seem to enjoy themselves, we quickly discovered that is rather difficult to set up in game games due to basic WoW mechanics (not a complaint). I would like to see Blizzard implement some form of engine in game wherein guild leaders are able to set up different mini games for their guildmates to participate in (races, scavenger hunts head to head blank etc. etc.). Allow for the event planner or GM to set specific guidelines and set rewards for placement.
Just an idea, I think it could help bring more guildies together just for fun.

We never thought about using the traveling merchants or merchants with unique items, that is an excellent idea. Same with the hide and seek in kara, although it seems like being in a group would still leave you exposed by way of mini map icons.
We did hold a relay race for our guild, I like your idea of no higher than 18 with a death limit, that is too much fun.
Thank you for the suggestions. I still hope Blizz finds some way in game to encourage guilds to get together for some random fun but in the meantime, these are great ideas.
Thank you.

One guild I was in would give out gold for various types of actives. One was for player activity for the top 5 players in a week leveling a character. Having some guild tools to help setup something like this would be nice.

Drunken Reindeer Race through org. We get the most potent beverages possible and make sure everyone has holly so that their mounts turn into reindeer. The track runs through the entire city, and we stand by to keep them honest. For the race, they must fly and they must keyboard turn. No mouse at all.

The only truly tricky issue I have come across recently (last expansion) was that it is hard to watch groups in more than 1 different party/instance. So we did some races in legion where groups would race eachother in M+, but it wasnt like we could watch all the teams like in MDI or anything.

I like seeing that there do seem to be several others who do things like this. I for one still hope Blizz would implement some sort of in game tool to help facilitate these types of events (the hiding of a chest with items of your choosing is a great example). However, there are a lot of great ideas in here. Next time we do an event, I am coming here for inspiration.

In ESO we also had 50/50 raffles. You had to pay 2000 gold for a ticket, 3 tickets for 5000 gold. When you bought a ticket you were placed on a list. At the end of the set period, the guildmaster would randomly generate a number and whoever was that number on the list got 50% of the earnings, the rest went to the guild.

What happens when six people are given firearms, then told to enter a completely dark mansion filled with traps to kill one another? You get a fun new multiplayer game, obviously. This is the broad strokes setup for Midnight Murder Club, a deadly game of first-person shooting hide-and-seek from developer Velan Studios.

Midnight Murder Club promises multiple modes for six-person fun, including classic FFA and team deathmatch as well as multiple objective-based modes. Since nearly everything is dark, players will have to rely on their other senses or carefully use a flashlight to both pick out their foes and avoid the various traps littered within the mansion, all without giving away their position. Players can also keep their eyes peeled for additional items like night vision goggles, body armor, or extra weapons.

Today, we're discussing how playing World of Warcraft (or MMORPG games in general) can make you experience less loneliness and social anxiety. You will learn through which mechanism this is achieved, and which factors play a role in it. I will also outline some potential downsides to it.

As the gaming industry has grown, so has World of Warcraft. The game is estimated to have over a million players each day and over 100 million players in total. The game is created to mimic parts of the real world, making it immersive for players and mirroring real-life behavior or allowing them to act out new ones.

In MMORPG games, and World of Warcraft more specifically, the social aspect is crucial. Sure, you could play it by yourself without ever interacting with anyone, but that's rather hard. What's more realistic is that you will engage with other players to do raids, complete quests, trade, play PvP, etc. Over time, you will likely add people to your friend list and get closer, meaning you'll interact more often with them. You may also join a guild, meeting new people to work on common goals.

Interactions of this kind online can replace your social needs that you'd otherwise seek offline. Furthermore, the fact that online environments, such as WoW, are basically anonymous probably makes it easier for some of us to engage in more socially open behavior.

This was found to be the case for loneliness [2, 3]. For lonely individuals, MMORPGs are an ideal social space to satisfy their social needs. Though not yet demonstrated, it is assumed that the same might be the case for people experiencing social anxiety (e.g., in the form of shyness), as MMORPGs provide a more comfortable environment and allow for social activities, as well as easier communication and the forming of friendships [4].

As pointed out earlier, MMORPGs (and WoW more specifically) provide a great environment for people experiencing loneliness and social anxiety. It can help them engage in more pro-social activities, leading to a reduced sense of loneliness and social anxiety. Though, "WoW thus becomes an ideal online environment for forming relationships and communication with other people [4]," there are downsides to this.

On the contrary, engaging in playing video games to hide or escape the real world (we've discussed escapism as a motivation to play video games) can be problematic. Such problems may include becoming addicted to playing or increased sedentary behavior leading to less physical movement and health problems down the road. Another aspect I'd like to stress is that when something becomes 'easy,' humans tend not to go back to the harder thing. In our case, playing WoW to easily satisfy your social needs probably makes it harder in the future to engage with people in real life.

I tell you all of this to stress the point that engaging in playing video games to "solve" the problem of loneliness and social anxiety long term probably is the wrong approach. I rather suggest "using" video games as a tool to learn, get comfortable first, and then apply what was learned to the real world.

Hunters are one of the oldest classes of adventurers found on Azeroth. Deeply connected to nature, they are masters of survival in any wilderness. Truly adept hunters are able to convince any wild creature to come to their aid, or blend in with their surroundings -- hiding in plain sight. Hunters seek to preserve a balance between nature and civilzation, and use their skills carefully to this end.

The Blood Elf Farstriders are not as common nor as skilled as the hunters found amongst the Night Elves, but they have retained their affinity for nature from their former days before their exile from Kalimdor.

Once hunters on Draenor, tracking Talbuk for sport and to show off their skill, the Draenei now use these abilities to help the Alliance on their new world of Azeroth, as well as to help themselves learn more about this new world.

Dwarves bear a special connection to Azeroth, being descended directly from the Earthen. Many of the Dwarven mountaineers are hunters. Whereas many hunters will wield a bow or crossbow, Dwarven hunters are especially skilled with firearms.

The Forsaken retain the abilities they had in life -- and so, humans who have died and been resurrected as Forsaken remain hunters. The Dark Rangers may train them, lending the abilities of former High Elves as well.

It is unknown what has led goblins to take up the skills of the hunter, but it has been shown that goblin hunters are a force to be reckoned with. Their skill with firearms is unmatched by any other races in the Horde.

Some Pandaren adventurers hailing from the Wandering Isle became quite skilled as hunters during their isolation from Pandaria. This was due, largely, in part to relying on the resources of an island that was on the back of a turtle. In deference to their home, some of these hunters have chosen to befriend dragon turtles.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is the seventh expansion pack for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Legion. It was announced at BlizzCon on November 3, 2017. In contrast to previous expansions, which went live at midnight in each time zone, Battle for Azeroth had a simultaneous release for all regions, corresponding to midnight Central European Summer Time on August 14, 2018.[2][3][4]

In addition to raising the level cap from 110 to 120, the expansion introduces the Kul Tiras and Zandalar continents and four races for both the Alliance and the Horde, while also adding dungeons and raids,[5] warfronts, and uncharted islands.

The expansion allows players to level up to level 120, an increase from the level cap of 110 in the previous expansion Legion.[2] Initially, there will be ten dungeons included with 8.0 with Mythic Plus versions of the dungeons and the first raid, Uldir, being available soon after the game's release. Following the beginning of preorders and the release of four allied races in January 2018, the number of character slots per server was raised from 12 to 16; with the launch of the expansion in August, it was raised to 18, to make room for the two additional races unlocked with initial content. The number of available bag slots in the player's backpack, which has been fixed at 16 slots since the game's release in 2004, will also receive an increase if an authenticator is attached to an account.
