Reliable and free network scanner to analyze LAN. The program shows all network devices, gives you access to shared folders, provides remote control of computers (via RDP and Radmin), and can even remotely switch computers off. It is easy to use and runs as a portable edition. It should be the first choice for every network admin.
Now, in distributed Monitoring Environments it is the Master that is responsible for triggering the Networkscan on his own site or slavesites. This is done via a cronjob which runs 1x per minute.
So you have an hourly hardcap of 60 scans.
Hi All,
We are using XDR Pro version with agent version 8.2. I am curious about this OS fingerprinting feature under Distributed Network scan setting in Agent profile. I have already configured Network Location Configuration and also configured other things as shown in the attached screenshot. I was hoping it would return the OS type/version of other systems the XDR agents discovered. But so far, it doesn't seem to be doing much. Am I missing something?
Distributed Network Scan
My network location configuration is set like this (actual DNS server name/IP address changed for the screenshot).

Hello @nsinghvirk ,
Thanks for the comprehensive reply. Because I am a total beginner when it comes to Cortex XDR, I am not clear about this sentence. Can you please explain a bit more? Thanks once again.
This statement means that at least two neighbour endpoints should be present within a subnet for agent to perform ping or NMAP scan. In other words, if there is only one endpoint present within a subnet then no other endpoint is available for it to do the scan.
I do not know about these guys but what I suspect they have are multiple SIM cards or a roaming SIM card and manually switching between them/the networks and sending the at!gsminfo, at!uset and at!lteinfo command to the unit. These commands are only able to return the information for the currently selected network and without the roaming/switching capability you cannot see the other networks even if the signalling software is aware of them.
Unfortunately those two commands (along with some others) are missing from the official AT documentation of the MC73xx and EM73xx series. Maybe SW will add them in the future for a more complete documentation.

FYI the only things I have done with the laptops is complete the refurbished Windows 10 (Pro) installation, all the updates, Installed Office 2013 (and all the updates), Chrome, and adobe air, shockwave, reader and flash.
I have checked DNS and it does seem to have stale entries. I have deleted the extra entries on the IPs that I have loaded on the two laptops I still have connected. I have also selected the local domain and activated scavenging, and also selected the option to scavenge now.
I then re-did the scan and during the scan, it found the device with the host name, and added it to the inventory, with no details. Configuration, Software, etc with Asterisk. The scan result was failed.
for entire scan you should be use -p- it means all port scannig .You need to scan entire server with subnet you should use command 192.168.1.1-255.1.255 first you add hope you got it if i had any mistake please comment.
In the process of moving my old Freepbx to a new build. I purchased the endpoint manager and when scanned my subnet for phones. Only about 1/2 of the phones were shown. In the past I had had to add MAC prefix to the OUI Manager so the net scan would work correctly.
These Mac prefixes are all for are for Linksys and Cisco Phones that I have. I had to add them to the old end point manager oui manager to be able to get the network scan to read all my phones. I check the brand and model of each phone - see below:
I am often on one computer in my house and I would like to SSH to another one, but often don't know the IP address of the one I want to connect to. Is there a way, from the command line, to scan the local network so I can find the computer I want to connect to?
Use "nmap" - this will tell you which hosts are up on a network, and indeed which have port 22 open. You could combine it with a few other tools (like grep) to produce more targeted output if need be.
Also, it's a common tactic among sysadmins to change services like SSH to a weird high port in an attempt to hide it. Although that doesn't really apply in your situation, since you probably administer your own LAN machines.
The manual you provided the link to is old and refers to software I don't have and don't know how to get. The software on my computer is HP Smart. The instructions on Page 12 do not line up with the screens for HP Smart. But, I can see where to set up the settings for scan to Network in HP Smart, but whatever I enter doesn't work. On my printer, I can select the network location I set up but as I said, I get error messages about an invalid user name or password.
I bought the Canon Imageclass mf244dw printer and today began setting it up, using a wireless connection to my computer. I downloaded the latest drivers for printing and scanning from usa.cannon.com/support and while I have been able to print and copy, I am getting the following error when I go to scan.
I'm using Windows 10 (OS build 18362.535). I know there's a scan utility called "Canon MF network Scanner Selector" that I'm supposed to use for scanning, but when I select it to open it in the Start menu, there's no response. It's not opening.
The model of my printer is Imageclass mf264dw (not mf244dw as I wrote in my original email) -- sorry about the typo. I did in fact, (yesterday) download the drivers from the page for the correct model, using the dMF260MFDriverV610W64.exe under the driver section at -and-white-laser/can...
Your link suggested that I also needed to download the scanning software utility under the software tab at -and-white-laser/can... After downloading and running winmfscanutilityv1900.exe, I'm now able to scan to my computer when on my printer's control panel I press the scan button and select "computer". This is progress. The scan utility software added another program/tab in the Windows 10 start menu under Canon. Now there is as an "MF Scan Utility" program as well as "MF Network Scanner Selector" (which I got from the driver download yester). There's also a README file listed in the Start Menu under Canon (not sure if this was installed by driver .exe or scanning software .exe), but that doesn't matter.
I hope other people avoid my frustration and difficulty by making sure to download (from the links above) not just the driver executable but also the scanning software executable. Not sure why these are two separate downloads (executables), especially since the driver executable installs scanner drivers (or gives the option to do so). Having a single download that installs drivers and asks you if you want to install scanning software would streamline the process for people setting up their printer for the first time and avoid the mistake I made. Also, why have the program "MF Network Scanner Selector" show up in the Windows start menu? Even today, with my scanner working, selecting this program from the Start menu does not open anything. This is very confusing - why have it listed in Start Menu if there's no response if you select it?. Just a couple suggestion for Canon's software team.
Hi, crunch!
So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or Mac OS, and which version thereof). That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!
If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.
Thanks and have a great day!
The IJ scanner selector is not the main scanner software for the Image CLASS series. If you only have the option for the Network scan utility, it will mean the MF Scan utility is missing and you will need that to perform scans. You can download the MF Scan Utility for the MF264dw using the link provided HERE. You can locate it under the tab for software and it will be the first one in the list.
Hi I have the same issue, with a Canon MF633 Cdw, OS WIN11, I have installed the latest MF Scan Utility ver 1.20.0.4, disable the firewall and antivirus but I cannot find the MF Network Scanner Selector. Any ideas?
Hello. I have a Motorola hyper one android 11 and I am going to run network scan, my question is on when scan is done how will I know wether my network has been compromised. What will the test tell me when completed green for alls good or red for danger. Please excuse my ignorance I just want to know if I am good to go. Thank you very much for your help.
The Bitdefender network scan will tell you if your network has been compromised by detecting any malicious activity or vulnerabilities. If the scan completes without finding any issues, you will see a green checkmark. This means that your network is secure and there is no evidence of compromise.
If the scan finds any malware, Bitdefender will attempt to remove it automatically. However, you may need to take additional steps, such as resetting your passwords or changing your security settings.
