My steam wallet has the nessesary funds, but when i select any amount of gems and click on the "next" button in the store dialog a loading indicator is shown and nothing happens. I tried to wait for multiple minutes, but it just keep loading infinitely. It seems the game fails to connect to the steam api or something.
Here's a screenshot:
I already reached out to arenanet support, but they just told me to contact steam as i'm trying to purchase something via steam (which technically from my point of view is not correct). I'm trying to purchase something from the ingame store and not a DLC from the steam store. There might be very well something wrong my account on arenanet's side?!
I am having the same problem but Steam overlay is enabled. The only difference I have is that my account still has a few days to go before I can buy or sell on the trading post. Could that be whats causing the problem?
However you might have to wait 72h after account creation (or activating your expansion) on Steam as additional security measure. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if ANet added some additional security checks for the Steam launch since they had a security incident with the in-game gem store last November when they changed payment providers.
I just tried on my Steam Account and having the issue despite having in-game client turned on for the game. I wonder if this is a steam issue or communication between Steam and ArenaNet. It would nice if this could be fixed sooner than later considering how many may be playing thru Steam.
In my case, I was trying to install therubyracer-0.9.8 with bundle install, and for some reason, it was trying to use my copy of libv8-3.11.8.13, which had been installed at some point, probably as a dependency of some other gem.
So that is why uninstalling all of your versions of libv8 and then re-installing therubyracer works. Because all the versions of libv8 that do not have the method include_path are removed completely, and the libv8 that does have the method include path is reinstalled when you reinstall of therubyracer.
For anyone encountering this issue on Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion when attempting to upgrade their Gemfile with gem 'therubyracer', '0.11.0', just upgrading the system libv8 gem worked for me (no uninstallation of any other gem necessary):
then bundle install as usual. Just note that libv8 can take a significant amount of time to install and I've noticed that it may end up being the cause of going over Travis CI's timeout limits, causing your build to fail. You can mitigate this slightly be not including development environment gems in your builds:
This may not work for all apps, but it seems that my Rails 3.2.9 apps didn't actually need therubyracer or libv8 after all. After removing those gems from my Gemfile, I confirmed that my specs passed, pushed again to Travis and it built successfully. So, I guess getting rid of those gems (if you're not sure you actually need them) is at least worth a try.
Thanks to Paul Annesley for confirming that if you're on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, you don't need therubyracer gem at all since the OS already comes bundled with Apple JavaScriptCore, its own Javascript runner. At the time of the original answer, I was on Snow Leopard and hence needed it.
The Lion of Merelani has shattered several records. The vivid gem is the largest precision-cut tsavorite in the world. It is also the largest tsavorite gem ever cut in the United States. The historic cutting process was documented from start to finish for the world to see.
The gem is a gift to the National Gem Collection from Somewhere in the Rainbow, a privately owned gem and jewelry collection. With an emphasis on education, Somewhere in the Rainbow works with gemologists, gallery owners, museums and jewelry designers to preserve the rarity and beauty of the finest colored gems in the world. The stone is also a gift from Bruce Bridges, the CEO of the Bridges Tsavorite mining company that specializes in sustainably excavating vibrant gems in Eastern Africa. The Lion of Merelani honors his father Campbell Bridges, the famed geologist who discovered tsavorite in Tanzania in 1967.
The Gem Store allows players to purchase various items using gems as currency. It is accessed through the Black Lion Trading Company panel (default O). Most items purchased are immediately delivered through the mail.
The below tables were last edited on July 23, 2024 at 18:33:59 UTC Edits do not always mean a change of offers; they can be e.g. typo fixes instead. As such; even if the time indicated here should lie after the last change of the Gem Store offers in game the below tables may still be outdated by these offers; be it whole or partially. Further; since the below tables are maintained voluntarily and manually there may be a lot of time between changes to the Gem Store and the below tables. Offers may as such also not fully reflect the in game offers; be it they are e.g. missing here but are present in game or are present here still even though they are long gone in game or have other inconsistencies to their in game equivalent. The only truly accurate way to check the offers is to do so in game. Caveat lector.. See this page to edit the data behind the below tables.

Like other garnets, the green variety is formed when heat and pressure deep within the Earth transform rock. Most of these metamorphic rocks are hundreds of millions of years old and date back to when eastern Africa was on the margins of a splintering supercontinent. By mapping these rocks across local deposits, Bridges was able to also find the green garnet-bearing in Kenya in 1970. There, he soon found green garnet crystals large and transparent enough to be fashioned into gemstones.
Bruce Bridges named the stunning gem the Lion of Merelani, a nod to his father whose moniker in the region was "The Lion" and the area where it was discovered. He hopes it honors the outsized legacy of his late father in eastern Africa and the field of gemology.

Not all corrupted Gems are naturally aggressive. Centipeetle was tamed by Steven ("Monster Buddies"). The Heaven and Earth Beetles are proof that corrupted Gems can lead peaceful existences without interference of humans or Gems ("Giant Woman").
If a Gem shape shifts or reforms, regardless of the form the Gem takes, the location and shape of their gem remains the same, even if they are impersonating another Gem whose gem placement is different (Amethyst - "Cat Fingers"). The size of the gem however may change (Amethyst - "Cat Fingers"). Gems are able to conceal their gems; Amethyst partially conceals her own gem almost all of the time due to her clothing.
There is an area within Lion's mane around his chest that acts like a pocket dimension like Pearl's gem and can be used to store items (as seen in "Rose's Scabbard"). Lion's mane conveniently conceals his chest and any gem that may lie beneath it.
We have already seen several examples of gems who have gems on their chests, including Amethyst and Yellow Diamond. White Diamond and Blue Diamond have also been portrayed in gem art as having identical shaped gems placed where Yellow Diamond has hers (Pyramid Temple - "Serious Steven").
A pure Gem also retains their color when they shape shift, (Amethyst - "Cat Fingers") even as a fusion (Garnet - "Keep Beach City Weird", "Secret Team"), however Steven (half gem/half human) has shown he can change color when he shape shifts ("Cat Fingers"). Even damaged and corrupted Gems are limited by this (Centipeetle - "Monster Buddies", Amethyst - "Reformed"). This would explain Lion's odd coloring which does not resemble lions native to Earth.
(Note: If Lion is a Gem then he would have the same limitations of other Gems, therefore his gem will be pink in color. This rules out that Lion was a Rose Quartz Gem, even though he is an almost identical color, we have seen his stomach in "Rose's Scabbard" and there are no gems placed there.)
Like the Gems, Lion is a magic user. He can walk on water (like Lapis Lazuli, Opal and Pearl) and blast stuff. Unlike the current Crystal Gems, Lion has the ability to portal, something that no other Gem yet has been seen to be able to do. (Note: This skill may have a limited range hence the general Gem populace's reliance for transportation such as space ships and warp pads or it is an extremely rare and not very well known skill for a Gem to have, just like Lapis Lazuli's water manipulation.)
