Hi Neighbors. I'm looking for some advice. My AC unit recently started leaking condensation. It caused quite a mess & set off the fire alarm at 2:30 in the morning. (sorry nearby neighbors!) I've talked to a few other people in the building that have had this same problem. I've been told a number of things. Some say the AC drip pan needs to be replaced others say the whole unit should be replaced. Someone said that the condensation drainage pipe for the building is either blocked or rusted closed. Another neighbor advised buying a dehumidifier.  Does anyone have any experience/opinions on this? Also does anyone know an AC company that they would recommend? Let me know

Hi Greg, my experience with ACs is that the problems most often come from mold. A good cleaning is a very first, before considering any other expense. (of course the cleaning contractor has to be HONEST and not argue in favor of a unit replacement if the cleaning can fix the issue).
No, I don't know any good contractor to do that job, I usually do it myself ;-)

Call A-Line Airconditioning
Alan Goldstein

He did a lot of units in the building and he’s honest.
Good luck,

Carla
