I saw that while keyboard input seemed, blocked, I was still able to communicate between PC and keyboard adjusting volume and opening calculator, for example. Moving forward, I tried uninstalling the devices multiple times and reinstalling them (after system restart), I tried modifying the registry, I tried running several different scans... ZERO luck. Then I thought, "Maybe disable Kaspersky?" Still nothing. I uninstalled, restarted, nothing. Windows troubleshoot was unable to fix my "driver error".

Solution: Hold the shift key and restart the PC. Select a restore point from before installing Kaspersky. Wait about 10 minutes (will vary by system).

P.S. We have had the problem with keyboard and mouse filters before(in 2016 and after), but it were single cases, which were related to kavremover utility, improperly installation/uninstallation of Kaspersky products, customer`s registry problems etc.

Wow and still having issues!! Not to revive an old thread but I'm having serious issues just after uninstalling Kapersky. Did a re-install same issue lagging mouse ...seriously lagging ..!!!! The computer is now unusable in this state. Congratulations you proved how immature your software really is ...pffft . Now I, not you have to jump through hoops to clean the garbage up. Sorry to say it this way but if your uninstall doesn't work Correctly and Messes up a computer and you admit it's been an issue since 2016 .... really ? That's basic computer software engineering ...no ? So here's what you should be doing ..fixing what you break ...no ?

If the default language of your workstation is not the language you need for entering supported non-Latin scripts for cataloging or for variant name headings in authority records, or if you do not already have an input method for the language set up on your workstation, install input languages and methods in Windows.

When English is your default language and you install one or more other input languages, Windows automatically displays a language bar on the desktop for toggling through your input languages. You can also use the default Windows keystroke shortcut to toggle through installed languages.

I purchased a larger SSD for my surface laptop 4. Put in the USB key to install windows 11 and during boot I can see it saying disabling drivers for things that could cause issues. Then when in the first W11 screen to select language and location I can't do anything. Trackpad, keyboard, and touchscreen do not work. I can't figure out how to make any inputs. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? My windows USB came from the Microsoft website.

C:\Users\john>C:\Users\john\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python38\Scripts pip install keyboard'C:\Users\john\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python38\Scripts' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

If you have an issue where the MSI is not accessible, you can download the installer, that corresponds with the installed version, via the PowerToys release page and then run the following command. You'll want to change the EXECUTABLE_INSTALLER_NAME to what the file name actually is.

I currently have a Windows 10 VM and everything works great. I'm now trying to create a new VM running Windows Server 2019 but when the install comes up asking to select a language, my keyboard and mouse don't work.

I'm running VMware ESXi 6.5 U2 and am doing the install through the esxi web interface. Since esxi 6.5 doesn't support Windows 2019 as a vm I had to select Windows Server 2016 but lots of people seem to have this working fine.

I just built a brand new computer. I inserted the Windows 7 Ultimate disk into the drive, and when prompted, pressed a key to boot from the CD. At this point, the computer itself is able to detect the keyboard.

Knowing this, you can overcome possible BIOS USB bugs by booting into Windows seutp exactly as you did, wait until the choose language screen appears, then without turning the computer off or rebooting unplug the keyboard and mouse and plug them back into different USB ports. This trick has worked for me in the past.

Update: If you are using a newer Intel processor with USB 3.0 you might have to add the USB 3.0 drivers to the installation image. You can do this the hard way using the Windows DSIM utility but Intel also distributes a tool to automate the process. More info is on Intel's website.

I solved the problem that i had with my MSI motherboard. It had an option that was called windows 7 installation and windows 8 installation. Both were disabled. I enabled the windows 7 installation option and now it recognized both the keyboard and the mouse in usb 3.0 aswell..

Instead of booting with the Win7 DVD, use a Win8.x DVD and see if the keyboard/mouse works. If the keyboard and mouse still doesn't work even on Windows 8.x setup, then it's likely something dodgy is up with your motherboard.

Not sure if this will work:
Try not just just switching, but rebooting with the keyboard and mouse already plugged in to 2.0 ports.

It might not recognize new hardware after its booted, or hardware in the 3.0 ports while booting.

To show the onscreen keyboard, tap a text field, then touch and hold on the lower-right corner of your iPad screen until the onscreen keyboard appears. To hide the keyboard again, tap on your iPad screen.

Apparently, based on those threads, IOMMU is an AMD specific setting. My motherboard does not have that setting. However, it led me to the correct solution for my motherboard, which is an Intel motherboard. I had to disable XHCI completely. Once I did that, the mouse and keyboard worked correctly.

Reassign any button on your mouse to perform virtually any task. For advanced devices, you can adjust the scroll wheel, cursor speed, and much moreMouse button customization available on Windows and macOS, F-key customization available on Windows only.. Enhanced key functions let you set Logitech keyboards to behave just the way you like.

Installing Japanese keyboards on non-Japanese computers has gotten much easier in the past ten years. No more special discs with complicated software. In fact, just about every computer has a Japanese keyboard ready and waiting inside of it.

That's where we come in. We get a lot of emails from people struggling to install and switch between Japanese keyboards. In this guide we'll show you how to install Japanese keyboard inputs, set awesome shortcuts for better productivity, and type anything you could ever want, all without needing a "real" Japanese computer or keyboard.

But now there's a small problem. When you added the Japanese keyboard, it probably enabled another shortcut that conflicts with other programs. It's command + space. This filters through your language options, always going to the next one.

Next you'll have a couple of options. Chances are you'll want to unselect the box that says Set as my Windows display language (unless you are looking for some total immersion!). You can also choose to install speech and handwriting tools as well. Once you've made your selections, click Install.

But you should be careful. If any other shortcuts (which may be default on your computer) are the same as the shortcuts you're making, they won't work. So it's probably best to stick with the default cycle shortcut if you aren't dealing with 3+ language keyboards.

I'm having an issue with Linux. The keyboard layout isn't correct. When I hit the forward slash key it displays a greater than symbol. Some of the other keys are also malfunctioning. I have an ASUS G51VX laptop and I'm using the built in keyboard. I'm using Mint Linux 18.2 Sonya with Cinnamon Desktop. When I look at the layout via the keyboard settings in Linux it's showing a key to the right of the " key doesn't exist on my actual keyboard (see pic below).

dpkg: error processing package @BasileStarynkevitch keyboard-configuration (--configure): package keyboard-configuration is already installed and configuredErrors were encountered while processing: keyboard-configuration

I tried dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-reconfigurationand got:dpkg-query: package 'keyboard-reconfiguration' is not installed and no information is availableUse dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files, and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents./usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: keyboard-reconfiguration is not installed

The problem is you specified a 105-key keyboard during installation. This keyboard does have the key left of the " key according to the default geometry. If you had specified the correct number (104 or less), you would have got the correct layout, no matter on what distribution. Specifying the wrong number of keys does no harm, except that graphic produced for your keyboard layout is wrong (no matter in which distribution)

The keyboard hook monitors keystrokes for the purpose of activating hotstrings and any keyboard hotkeys not supported by RegisterHotkey (which is a function built into the operating system). It also supports a few other features such as the Input command.
