POETRY SLAM feat. Team UCSC
Thursday, Jan. 24, @ The Cowell Fireside Lounge
8:30 sign up / 9:00PM show (get there early!)
donations requested (no one turned away)
UC Berkeley is not to be missed. Last year they placed 4th in the nation at the National Poetry Slam.
This is not only the first slam of the quarter, but it is also the last slam before your LAST CHANCE to make it to the Semi-finals for the KPP Slam Team.
What does it mean to make it on a slam team? Well, it means you get coaching on your performance, a chance to write team pieces with fellow members of the team, and a trip to the Collegiate National Poetry Slam. This year the NPS will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico!
Since this is the last slam before the KPP Festival (www.kineticpoetics.com), we are doing something special. WE WILL HAVE AT LEAST 15 spots for sign-up. We will also give guaranteed spots at the LAST CHANCE SLAM (during the festival) to people who sign up but do not make the list on Jan 24th!
If you want a spot on the team, this is the slam to go to. Top two poets, as usual, get a spot in semis.
