Denise writes:

I am a wearer of many hats. I am a writer/performer, community builder, an educator, full time student, a baby whisperer, toilet scrubber, and a social butterfly that sometimes likes to watch. I am a friend, sometimes a lover and hopefully never an enemy. I host the Seattle Poetry Slam facilitate writing workshops with youth and adults, I am currently co creating the education program for Eleventh Hour Productions (the literary non prophet that umbrellas the slam), and am a member of the EHP board of directors, I work with a local group of artists called Stronghold Productions building community through creating LARGE SCALE art installations (please see photos of The Machine http://strongholdproductions.org/ ), I like doing great things with amazing people and being inspired. Oh yes and sometimes I like to sit on my ass and watch shitty movies that make me laugh because life can get way too serious.

RYLER DUSTIN has featured at venues across the US, from New York's Bowery Poetry Club to his hometown reading, Poetry Night. In 2006 he earned the right to represent Seattle in the Individual World Poetry Slam. He competed again in 2007, placing eight in the world. As a recent Seattle Grand Slam Champion, he won a place on the prestigious Seattle Slam Team for the second year in a row. His work has been published in Chrysanthemum, Bear Creek Haiku and other journals. He is currently finishing up a creative writing degree and a term as Associate Editor to Jeopardy Magazine.
