A very special COVER POETRY SLAM
at Namaste Lounge on 5/22
sign-ups at 9:00, show at 9:30
Featuring: DAVID PEREZ
Hells yeah! There is one more slam this school year and word on the street is that it will be off the hook. The featured poet, David Perez, was a regular in the open mic and slam scene in Santa Cruz before he moved back to San Jose. Now, he runs poetry workshops, youth poetry slams, wrestles gorillas, holds tea parties, and generally keeps it real. If you want to, like, listen to astounding poetry, come and listen to him. He'll kill it. We promise.
The slam itself will be a cover slam! If you've been a bit shy about stepping to the mic to read your own poetry, then step to the mic and read someone else's! There'll be a stack of poetry books lying around for y'all who want to read but just couldn't pick a favorite.
See you at the slam!
P.S. Unfortunately, the last slam is on the same evening as Take Back the Night. If you can't make it too the slam, then hell if you aren't at the Oakes Upper Lawn at 10pm.
