I am a 24 year old male and since 2 months I am having chest pain especially in left side of chest and sometimes in right side too. The pain usually come and go. Sometimes it persists for a longer time. My doctor had me diagnosed for Vitamin D and the level is 15ng/ml. Is this level deficient? The pain feels like heart pain most of the times. I also have pain in hands especially in right hand and also mild pain in legs. I also have GERD problem. I have also undergone Chest X-ray,Ultrasound and blood tests and everything came back normal. My doctor has prescribed me with 60,000 IUs per week of D3 along with other meds. I have been taking these since 2 weeks but I am not having that much of relief. Sometimes my heart rate also go up and i feel uncomfortable after that. I have also headaches sometimes. Can this chest pain because of vitamin d deficiency. If it is, how much time will it take to recover from this pain if I continue with same dosage?
Unfortunately, this is quite normal, I found out I was vitamin d deficient nearly 2 years ago and am still having issues with my chest, don't get me wrong, I feel much better, but my chest does stil hurt, I was in that much pain once I honestly thought I was having a heart attack, I went to a&e but I was fine, a few people on this forum have had the same issue, it's what vitamin d deficiency does to your bones, it stops calcium being absorbed properly so your bones suffer, my whole body hurt for months, give it time, you will start to feel better.
The pain felt muscular and bone pain, I did sometimes think it was my heart, but was assured my heart was fine. My level was 17, and started taking high doses of vitamin d in early Feb, I didn't start to feel human again until around August/September, but over a year later still have pain in my bones. Just to mention, not sure if anyone else had this problem, but taking high doses of vitamin d can zap your magnesium level, and I suffered from skipped heart beats, doctor wasn't bothered, I looked into this myself, so I started taking Epsom salt baths, this really helped.
Yeah I understand that. But I am having sudden pain in my chest however the pain is not that much severe but it feels like needle pain whichcomes and goes at times. Also due to this I have panic attacks too and mypulse goes up.Also sometimes I feel shortness of breath. I don't know how much time will it take to recover. I am really very worried..
Thank you Clare02625 !! I am also on same boat. I never had any stress & anxiety. I am healthy male with daily exercise with no addiction to alcohol, smoking etc. I did a lot of blood test 2D echo , MRI, X ray etc but found nothing all normal just left is Vitamin b12 and D test.
Sachin, first of all I'll advice you to go through your D and B12 tests. If the D level is low then definitely it will be a cause of the chest pain. Please refer to an experienced physician as most of the doctors do not acknowledge this pain due to D deficiency. Secondly, if your D score is in good level then you may have some anxiety as its a huge possibility bcj of the repetitive thoughts of your underlying disease. The same happened to me. I was very low in Vitamin D(13ng/mol) due to which it led me to serious anxiety while there was nothing wrong with me. So, if its just anxiety please do not hesitate to refer to a psychologist as they are the best person to help you, I assure you this. Let me know of your results.
Thanks Mike for suggestions.......yes today morning here in India, I did these tests i.e. B12 and D13 and after few hours I got my results my Vitamin D is 12Ng/Mol, which they prescribed as extreme deficient.
Hey Sachin, mine is a very similar story to you. I am 23 years old. I started having chest pain which used to last for 2-3 seconds and then I would be confused as to why is this happening. I went to the doctor and all reports were normal. Doctor said I have anxiety, but I have never been an anxious person and I didn't have any kind of stress. Cardiologist did ecg and 2d echo tests but both were normal. Then I finally went to a psychiatrist who said I should get vitamin D and B12 checked. Turns out, my D3 is 9. 2 ng/mol and B12 is 282. He asked me to take arachital(d3-2 injections) and optineuron forte (b12-6 injections) and then take d3 and b12 supplements every week. I have taken 1 injection of d3 and 2 of b12 so far and I feel much better since the pain has reduced.
Initially, replacing B12 will lead to a huge increase in the production of blood cells and platelets (which occurs in the bone marrow) and can lead to rapid depletion of folate and iron stores; this can then limit the expected recovery of Haemoglobin.
Did you test ur magnesium level too for this I guess magnesium played a vital role in mental health as read from different health blogs. I am currently taking Calceferol Vit D3 tablet once a week 60000 IU ..and also I'm taking Vitamin B12 tablet Mecuneuron OD ... I'm also going to start Magnesium diet supplement to recover my magnesium level. I felt from thses blog that the symptoms we have all are not related to mental heath but I guess due to these difficiencies it affect our mental health and it is really bad that most of the doctor doesn't know the solution. To give for this.
