Whenyou partner with Cisco Networking Academy, you align your organization with the worldwide leader in technology that powers the Internet and become part of a global community of strong public-private partnerships and inclusive workforce development.

There is no charge to join the Cisco Networking Academy program. Depending on the course(s) you choose, you may need to purchase equipment and you may need the support of an Academy Support Center (ASC) to get up and running. Some ASCs do not charge for their services, while others offer an annual subscription fee for a general list of services.

For some courses, physical equipment may be required to support the learning objectives of the curriculum. The types of equipment required could include routers, switches, cables, or other hardware. As a participating academy in the Cisco Networking Academy program, you can purchase physical equipment at a significant discount for use in your classroom.

However, not all of our courses require physical equipment. Some courses take advantage of software tools such as Cisco Packet Tracer, virtual machines, or virtual sandboxes, and may only require a computer and internet connection. Many of our online introductory courses can be taken on any mobile device.

Contact a local Cisco Reseller Partner of your choice for equipment pricing and order fulfillment. Use the Partner Finder to find a reseller near you. Additionally, consider working with an Academy Support Center (ASC) who can help you choose the best way to secure equipment needed for your location. They may offer loaner equipment or used equipment options.

Yes, discounts for Cisco equipment needed for Cisco Networking Academy courses and labs are available when purchased through a Cisco Reseller Partner. Use the Partner Finder to find a Cisco Reseller Partner near you.

Cisco Networking Academy provides comprehensive support and resources for instructors. Our digital communities facilitate conversations with colleagues, shared ideas, best practices and collaborative problem solving. Academy Support Centers (ASCs) and Instructor Training Centers (ITCs) are also available to assist instructors when needed.

Teaching qualifications vary depending on the course or courses selected. Some of our more advanced or certification-aligned courses require accreditation or instructor training to ensure quality learning outcomes for your students. Check the Course Catalog to see if Instructor training is required for your desired course(s).

An Academy Support Center (ASC) is a partner that provides valuable services for Cisco Networking Academy institutions. ASCs are leaders within their community, providing guidance, mentoring, and ongoing support. Depending on their expertise, an ASC may help with:

In addition to training and professional development, ITCs may also offer additional training and support for courses with significant updates. You may find that an Academy Support Center also provides services as an ITC. Use the Instructor Training Center locator to find an ITC that best meets your needs.

Providing a technical curriculum is just the start of what Cisco Networking Academy offers students. The end-goal is to land a meaningful job! We help students launch IT careers, start businesses, and solve problems locally and globally. Our program includes:

Students also receive valuable assistance like career advice, virtual events, career networking, experience-building opportunities, and have the opportunity to be matched for employer apprenticeships.

I was always able to take the tests in the Academy. I found this very convenient as it helped me keep my skills up to date. I cannot do this in Netspace. I was told to create a new student and then use that "dummy" student to take the tests. I would much rather just be able to take the tests as an administrator.

It would be nice for instructors to be able to go in and preview the assessments in student view (actually seeing assessment) for instance to see what it does on pre check of if software right to take the test.

I was just reading the the ITN Instructors Planning guide, an noticed that Cisco's first Best Practice is that the instructor take the chapter assessment, prior to teaching the chapter. There is no way I can do this with out creating a fake student. Is that the recommended procedure?

I also find it useful as you are more likely to help students with specific questions they may have got wrong if you too have undertake the exam at some point. Plus as already mentioned it is a great activity to do yourself if you want to check your current skill level or in preparation for re-certification.

More than that, for instructors that theach in other languages, as I do (Brazilian Portuguese), it is very important to have access to the assessments, especially the SBA with Packet Tracer. In the CCNA Exploration version 4.0, the SBAs where not translated into portuguese, they where in English, and we could provide a Portuguese version of them thanks to fact that we had access to them in the Academy Connection. Here comes version 5 of CCNA, I hope we can have access to the assessments and see if they are in Portuguese, or not.

When we moved to the current (old netacad) that is what we had to do also. We had the ability to take the tests then they took it away and then they saw we needed it and they put it back. Probably doing the same mistake again. Take away, see that it is valuable for instructors and put it back.

I agree with this recommendation because it's useful for Instructors when re-certifying to try the assessments, especially the practice CCENT and CCNA exams. Creating a "dummy" student is not the most efficient way of doing this as it's just extra overhead for the Academy to keep track of among legitimate students who are enrolled in courses. I certainly miss this feature as well and hope it's incorporated into NetSpace.

I activated chapter exams, yes. Exploration 1 Chapter 2 till 11, step by step; no summary functionality any more ;-(

Then i tried the student view to watch, if the students can reach them over the assignment button,

but a message appears, that there are no active assessments. So i thought, i make a mistake by the activation, looked at the tutorials and wonder... wonder again and again and used the live chat...

after nearly one hour the result was, that with a new student account the chapter exams seems to appear, but with the student view the message with no active exams is still coming...

I think, there is a bug in the student view... or should this button be named to "student view (but not for assessments)" ?!

NetSpace is not yet a step to the front... sometimes back... in the sum to the side....

I hope it will work for us like NetAcad soon.

As Jack says you must attend appropriate training.Instructors at local academies are trained by a regional academy, and regional academy instructors are trained be Cisco Academy Training Centre (CATC).

The training will include one week per semester of the CCNA curriculum, in which you will complete all chapter exams and do the final semester exam acquiring an 80% pass and full completion of a practical exam and case study.

Then there is an orientation course and final CCNA exam, which must be sat at an authorised testing, centre with a pass rate of 825 on a scale of 300 to 1000.

Instructors attend Academy training at the

appropriate Regional Academy or CATC on behalf of

their organization. For certification, they are

required to pass the Cisco online final exam with a

score of 80% or better, and they must pass a hands-on

exam at the end of all courses. Instructors receive

support and additional training through the online

community and their Regional Academy or CATC.

My grade book is no longer viewable to me as an instructor. When I click on "Grades," it goes to the page that used to show the grade book. I can briefly see the grade book and then it quickly goes to a blank white page with a small tv in the top right corner.

I'm having the exact same issue and have been for two days. Glad it's not just me. It's making me crazy. I can still access grades by going through the Assignment and Quiz links to the Speed Grader, but it's not ideal. What's happening?
