Hi,
If you recall I am facing a problem with my Kindle (horizontal line
across screen). I wrote to Vinita Agarwal who had written in Shekhar's
blog saying she handles Kindle support for India.
I got a response from her which I am giving below. Vinita is no longer
with Amazon but she gave some useful information which I'm sharing.

Hi Vivek,
You are absolutely correct that i was working for kindle support but
unfortunately I left the job sometime back.But still I can help you
with this issue.
First of all try moving and holding the powere switch for 15 sec
before releasing it.This would turn of the kindle and then try turning
it on in the similar way after sometime.If this does not help you can
call Amazon to get your kindle replaced at their expense because your
kindle is definitely under warranty period.
