This is a response to Dr. Basu who has joined the group recently who wrote:
Congrats on getting a Kindle and welcome to the Kindle India group. The main function of creating the group was to provide a forum to share info, useful links such as to e-books, fixes, patches and updates and India specific stuff. If you look at earlier posts, some of them point to e-book sites.
Re doc format conversions, have you checked out calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/). It provides format conversion between various formats including to and from epub and mobi. I have been using it for a while and it is v good.

I have just bought a kindle. I am looking for a group that helps each other out in terms of sharing ebooks and maybe sharing shellscripts that aid in conversion to mobi
