Line across screen near bottom of Kindle

For the past few days I am noticing a horizontal line about 1.5 inches from the bottom of the Kindle screen. The line is faint and at the moment, does not hinder readability but it does look like a permanent addition. It is not a scratch on the screen.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?
