Idon't know much about audio drivers but the snd_intel_sst_acpi module looks to me like it's probably the one that's supposed to be controlling the device. I suspect I might need a different version, or something like that, but I can't find any information on those modules.
"Imaging Unit" sounds like camera to me. There's some snd_soc_sst stuff loaded so probably the SOC/CPU has integrated (outside of PCI) soundcard of some sort but it doesn't work because reasons. Run dmesg and see what this driver says when it loads.
After finished installing it dosen't shown in Device manager, it just won't install. i tried many different ways and different versions of the driver from Intel website, it seems nothing's work. I'm working with music it's very important for me to get it.
So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility ( -System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.
I am sorry to hear what is happening with your Computer, however, the audio driver is not related to the processor, you have to contact your System Manufacturer for further assistance regarding its installation issue.

I am going mad trying to get the sound work on a CHUWI CWI535 LapBook. I have just clean installed Windows 10 Home and everything went ok but the audio sound driver is missing. There is an exclamation sign on the audio driver. Where can I get the Windows 10 audio driver for this model?
It is important to search on the whole file checking the option to search in subfolders. The driver will install, but two new unknown devices will appear. Do a new search on the same file for the new devices and after rebooting your system, voila! everything is fine now!
I just install garuda and have trouble to get audio driver for my laptop,on windows audio was working and on some old version of ubuntu, now I only have garuda on this machine, please help, dont know what to do,try restart alsa but no effect
Failing the Pulseaudio control (pavucontrol) what does alsamixer say (you may need to install alsa-utils). While I'd rather get some solid info before saying JUMP OFF THE LEDGE I really think you should just nuke pipewire.
Yeah so far I find Pipewire to be problematic with a lot of things. Kinda like with Wayland, some it works, some it doesn't. Pipewire is defiantly not the one size fits all savior of Linux audio (yet). I hope it will fulfill its promises but atm I find it breaks a lot of things and adds a lot of confusion. Even Pulse can be confusing to new users because it doesn't reveal a lot of info. For some of that you need alsamixer...and past that you have to hand edit configs. Very unfriendly, very unintuitive.
I've found on a few recent builds some machines with more than one audio interface Pipewire worked fine and I was able to leave it be. However on some the fix was removing it and going with some classic alsa => pulse => jack. Kinda weird to think almost every machine now has multiple audio systems due to HDMI/DP.
The problem is.. my way of installing the drivers is wrong from the start. Like earlier, after I downloaded the driver from the site, I'm always looking for the "SETUP.exe" file from the folder of the driver itself -> then restart pc -> receive the error -> still audio not fixed.
But then, I've tried installing it through the device manager ->selecting the audio driver -> update -> Change the directory of the driver and locate the one that I download from driverscape website -> and BOOM! IT FIXES THE AUDIO FINALLY! ROFL I'm so dumb.. SORRY FOR ALL THE TROUBLE MAN, and sorry for my bad english as well XD
I also reinstall the OS for the 2nd time, assuming its just faulty reformating, but to no avail as well.. Can this be an OS-related bug? or my sound device/hub in my motherboard is damaged or broken? I'm thinking to reformat again, but this time on windows 7..
Also I've noticed that Driverscape calls it a High Definition Audio Device, the same name as you mentioned in one of your comments, that was one of the 2 audio controllers being shown. Normally with controllers they mention the makers name in Device Manager so it is very coincidental that they have the same "nondescript title"
I had the same problem as you, but it was a bit different computer. I had a mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina 15,6 Inch, I bought it just for work, that time I was a Dj and mac is pretty comfortable to work with music. Moreover I could mark genres with different colours and it was awesome because I didn't need to waste time to arrange them in folders. But besides work, I wanted to play my favourite World of Warcraft which was supported only by Windows, so I needed to install it with boot camp assistant. The unique problem was that drivers were too old ( I don't know why). I'm lucky my classmate recommended me a website with best driver updaters.
Can't hear any sound from your PC speakers? Sounds are interrupted or play abnormally? Intel high definition audio driver not working? Intel audio drivers can't be recognized by Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP? To a large extent, those sound or audio problems have close relationship with the Intel audio driver if you own the Intel High Definition audio device.
Intel audio driver, the multimedia sound control software, functions as the bridge between your computer and Intel High Definition audio equipment. It allows your Windows OS to communicate with the Intel audio device. So how to free download and update Intel audio drivers on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP? This article will show you how to get the proper Intel audio drivers such as the Intel audio display driver, Intel SST audio device driver, Intel Pentium D audio driver etc.
There are 2 common methods to download and install Intel sound card drivers in general: downloading from Intel official website, and the quickest way, downloading and updating with an Intel driver update utility.
The process from hunting down to downloading and installing the matched Intel audio drivers for your computer takes quite a time. And sometimes it turns out the frustrating faulty prompts when you download the wrong drivers. Thus, an Intel driver update utility is highly recommended to download and update your Intel sound drivers.
By default, Driver Talent will create a restore point before driver installing and updating. So if there is any further Intel audio device problem like video stuttering, no sound or unexpected system error such as black screen, blue screen, you can restore your PC to the point which is created before the driver installing.
If you feel nostalgic for a bit of Windows 9x action, or you just want to play some old games that are between DOS and Windows XP, you can either build a retro PC gaming rig, or you can test the water with VirtualBox.
Q: Can I access modern web content on Windows 98SE via VirtualBox?A: Accessing modern web content is challenging due to outdated browsers and security in Windows 98SE. Solutions involve using proxy services or specialized legacy browsers.
Q: Is it possible to adapt this setup for other legacy operating systems like Windows 95 or ME?A: Yes, but it requires specific adjustments related to installation, drivers, and compatibility settings to ensure functionality.
Edit/Addition to this tutorial: The downloaded EXE of AC97 win95 driver is actually an unzippable 7zip-archive. Do this, shutdown VM, set to AC97 audio, start VM, Windows is detecting new hardware, navigate to the unzipped win 95 folder, install. Nice MIDI and wave sounds ?
The official MS update pack does indeed seem to be what it says it is and quickly and easily (well, after a typical number of reboots at least) install a bunch of security updates, installed IE 6 and Direct x 9.0b and Windows Media Player 9.
If any of you are looking for 2004 Update SUCD.ZIP, commented above ? here is a working link and the description page is here =873&menustate=

Thanks for Keeping 98 Alive. ?
Well the big problem with the VxD sound driver is that it uses the Windows 95 driver model so DirectSound and mixing and all the things WDM audio introduced with Windows 98 will not work. That takes the fun out of the virtual machine. Might as well use VMware Workstation. Shame on Oracle and VirtualBox to not support the venerable Windows 9x family as guests.
Windows 98SE in VirtualBox starts with plenty of missing files. You need to disable 32bit protected mode harddisk access in system settings by entering safe mode. The nasty thing is that safemode can not be reached in VirtualBox because holding Ctrl or F5 or F8 during boot did nothing. I only could fix this by first installing a DOS boot menu in AUTOEXEC.BAT by booting into the DOS mode of the Win98SE setup CD to see the option to press F5 for safemode. (Possibly the Win98SE setup CD simply needs to be removed first to get there without menu.)
