Hi all

I'm thinking that a few of you have had similar issues with downloading anabat files at some stage and I am hoping someone can help me out.

I have some anabat call files that a client has downloaded using CFCread. When I view them in AnalookW they look like they are way too high and the cal tone is about 80kHz.

I have had this before when I have downloaded the call files with the incorrect Div ratio specified. However, we have re-downloaded the calls using default settings in CFCread and specifying both Div 8 and Div16 in separate downloads. The call files from each Div ratio download look exactly the same and both are wrong frequency-wise.

I have done this with different versions of CFCread and no change.

Any suggestions on where we have gone wrong or things to look for?

Thanks
Anna

Hi Anna

There was a firmware bug at one stage where the division ratio kept getting set back to its default value. So make sure you check on the firmware and the versions of CFCread and Analook etc. You can get the latest versions from:

www/hoarybat.com/Beta

which is case-sensitive.

It is easy to fix files with incorrect division ratios. Just go to Tools, Anahead, DivRatio. Make sure the files you want to change are selected (all files are initially selected). Usually you won't have to select anything, because the change will apply to all the files in a folder.

These days I always recommend people use a divratio of 8 - this has to be set on the detector at the time of recording. Note, this is the Data Div if you have an SD1 or SD2. Audio DIv for most people is best set to 16.

If the above does not fix your issue, please contact me.

Cheers, Chris.

Thanks so much for your speedy response Chris!

For others with a similar Div Ratio problem, just letting you know that the Anahead, Div Ratio tool did the trick. The Anabat was set to Div Ratio 16, but it seemed to record in 8. So I used Anahead to convert from Div16 to Div8 and now the call files are displaying at the correct frequencies.
