Kilo Flight,
I was not happy to receive C/Capt Cruz’s e-mail, as I’m sure we all felt as
a flight. We need to really be helping each other out- I know we have designated
wingmen, but if you’re in the middle of a task that you’re handing in to AFROTC
like a talking paper or memo; check it with the rest of the flight, or make sure
the rest of the flight has done it. We have a kilo flight facebook group, our
gmail group, and the wing roster to get in touch through text or calling- so
there should be no excuse for not contacting one another.
Academics- with the quiz this week, make sure you call up your
wingman and ask if they finished it in time and whether they think they got the
right answer. Take that time and quiz each other on the knowledge (because
that’s something we need work on.)
Cookbook- C/Eicher has been working really hard to put this together
and it’s been taking way too long to get done. It’s not supposed to be
complicated, and if you need help, that’s what your wingman and your flight is
for. We’re here to help you- don’t be afraid to text or call us.
Drill- I feel that as a flight we have improved a lot, but there is
still drill practice at 1100 with C/Luna every Friday, so don’t be afraid to
attend.
Peer Feedbacks- I’m astounded that after C/Cruz has sent out an
e-mail telling us a deadline for when to enter something WE AS A FLIGHT still do
not do it. It is DISRESPECTFUL to our flight commander to completely disregard a
deadline, and IT CANNOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
Flight Assignment for this week- I think our assignment should be
either a PERFECT talking paper or memo on what it is to be a wingman to each
other and the importance of working together as a flight. We haven’t been doing
this, maybe we need to get back to the basics of what it means. I hope to see every IMT cadet (unless you have class conflicts)
in the cadet lounge at 1020 before IMTL to go over how we can succeed as a
flight and to make sure our assignments and quizzes are top notch.
I want to be proud of our flight, and I know we can do it Kilo Flight- we
need to push ourselves and each other to do much better. Keep your heads up and
stay positive; we will succeed together! HUA KILO WHALES!
Sincerely,
MELISSA I. LAURENTINO, C/4C, AFROTC
