Where to start?

Recently decided I'd try going blond, I am not even sure how to guide the stylist about how I want it changed...I wanted the blond blended with brown as shown (my starting point was the last photo)...she needed up toning it twice, the very front part turned very light only for about 3inches (I had no color on those 3 inches I'd only done a few face framing thin highlights)...then the ends and pretty much everywhere else was extremely warm In comparison so she dried it and then placed a toner on it that turned it cooler but ended up grey in some spots while others stayed warm...is there a fix for this?
