I have tried many times to get KillBill installed on Digital Ocean. We are using Tomcat 8 on Ubuntu 14.04.

Does anyone have a tutorial or quick list of steps that has worked for them?

We don't have much experience with Digital Ocean, but our stack has a limited set of dependencies (on purpose) and based out of very common pieces of technology: java1.6+, container (jetty, tomcat,...), db (mysql,..)

Why would be different that starting any other webapp on Digital Ocean?

We get it installed; however, when we try to create a tenant (as a test) we get a 404 page.

We've never done an install of this type before. We are just looking for advice to see if we missed a step or went wrong somewhere during the install.

We've also installed it on OpenShift with the same results (404 page).

Below are two hint:
1)Cross check the  server log to ensure the app was deployed and server got started successfully.
2)make sure the ip address is reachable, and port forward is enabled ( your server startup port is reachable from outside)
