Custom Validation Before Account Creation in Kill Bill

I would like to ask if it is possible to add custom validation logic before account creation in Kill Bill. If so, could you please advise on the recommended approach or extension points to achieve this?

For example, I need to add a validation step to verify whether the externalKey already exists in the third-party system and, based on that, determine whether it should be created.

Hi Ahmed,

What is your flow of account creation, like are you using API to pull the details and create account in KB? The validation would lie before the KB api is invoked. On KB side, it just checks if external key is mentioned, if not, then it uses the account ID as external key.

Yes, creating a custom endpoint and applying our validation before calling the Kill Bill Account API is the last solution I’m considering.

However, what I’m looking for is whether Kill Bill provides any pre-call hooks or extension points that allow us to apply custom validation before the Account API is invoked, similar to EntitlementPluginApi or PaymentControlPluginApi.

Hi Ahmed,

 

The prior calls that are present for EntitlementPluginApi OR PaymentControlPluginApi, their equivalents are not available for the accounts creation. Though there are account creation events available, but these are generated after the account is created. 

I believe the only option would be to build a plugin with its own custom endpoint exposed. That way you can run any validation inside it and at the end call the Kill Bill create account API on success.
