The Base Midrash

Multiple Dates and Times | In-person at KI

Round 1: For Basers

Mondays and Wednesdays - 7:00-9:00PM

February 28, March 2, March 7, and March 9

Round 2: Intergenerational

Sundays and Tuesdays - 5:30-7:30PM

Since its creation, the Talmud has been the most persistent and influential text shaping Jewish culture and ideas. It is structured as a conversation, layering voices of many generations and perspectives over each other as they discuss the most essential of human questions. In this SVARA-style two-week intensive, led by Talia Laster, we will learn how to participate in the Talmudic process and claim it as our own. The Base Midrash will be fun for many types of learners. As long as you know your Aleph Bet, you're ready for this class! (If this is a problem for you, let us know! We may be able to help.) RSVP HERE.

CSS's Entry Point training sessions
March 13, both at 7:30PM. These one-hour, virtual trainings are about the basics of security and how to help protect our campus community. No background in security is required and all are welcome to join us. Both trainings are identical; select one from the two dates.

Topics covered include: Security awareness, Identifying security threats, Recognizing suspicious activity, Reducing and responding to threats, & How to contribute to overall safety. When registering for Feb. 16, please use the following information, as exactly written:

Fashion and Fiction: The Clothing We Wear and the Tales We Tell on Shabbat

2-Part Lecture Series for Hadar in Boston with Dena Weiss

Tuesday, March 8, March 15 at 7:30-8:45 PM Eastern

Shabbat is so much more than the labor we can't do and the rituals we must do. The

beauty and power of Shabbat lies in the ability it has to change our identity, if only for a

day. Join Dena Weiss and fellow Boston-area independent minyanim for a pair of

classes on the ways we shape and understand ourselves on and through Shabbat. In

particular, we’ll focus on the external by asking what is important about special “Shabbat

clothing” and the internal by exploring how our perception of self on Shabbat relates to

who we really are and who we want to become. RSVP HERE.
