OpenSSL 1.0.1c is very old. Currently IPFire is running with 1.1.1.p
Separate from the OpenVPN/IPSec question having software trying to work with OpenSSL versions so far apart runs the risk of mismatches in what is allowed between the two versions plus the older version will have lots of vulnerabilities that have been fixed in the newer versions.
And then search for the folder /home/bodhi/Documents/ShrewSoft_vpn-client_2.2.1/ike/script/linux/
In this folder there is a file named iked. You have to execute the file as root: $ sudo iked
This will install the application in the GNOME environment: Shrew Soft VPN Access Manager. The configuration will depend on the credentials of each person.
Server is AVM Fritz!Box 7412 with FritzOS in this case. I doubt there is anything to configure, at least I couldnt find anything relatet to VPN encryption. What you can configure is, you can check a checkbox next to your username to activate VPN for this user. After save&apply, Fritz!Box tells you how to connect with client. Thats everything. This is why Im asking here. Because OpenWrt ist "open", it should be more easy to make changes on this end of the VPN. Technically it doesnt matter, because both ends uses max encryption both are capable of. So if I change on either end to AES-128, it should work and "geode_aes" can do its job.
