Wewill definitely discuss this issue with the translation agency and forward your feedback. I was already a little bit concerned when I noticed that the Russian translations were done outside of Crowdin. We never got a single question from the Russian translator which is a red flag to me because there are plenty of English source strings that are quite hard to translate without any context.

I note that I am not a professional translator and I do not speak English very well, but I have been an active user of the forum engine for several years and I am directly interested in high-quality Russian translation.

If necessary, I could add my 5 cents to the list of questions for translators, but in general I agree with @hiddenseal: some terms in the new translation look very strange, without any connection with the context.

I have been using the forum engine since December 2019 and at the same time I took part in the translation on precisely because I was also not satisfied with the quality of the Russian translation available at that time.

It would be great if you could share your experience and point out specific existing inaccuracies (excluding changes made by the translation agency since October 2022) and together we could solve all translation problems much more efficiently.

You may be able to get one of the translation web sites (Babelfish or Google, and no doubt others) to help. However, you may have to translate from the original codeset to UTF-8 to get it to work -- simply copying the bytes above did not work.

So, to translate this with Perl, I used the Encode module first to convert the UTF-8 string back to Latin-1, and then I told Perl to treat the Latin-1 as if it was CP-1251 and convert that back to UTF-8:

For the moment if you want a solution to add Russian language, we can provide you a file with all the terms/words of the software in English and if you could translate it in Russian, with this file it would be easy to import it and have the software in Russian language.

It is better if you wait for the release of the new version V5. There will be all updated terms and there is a new feature of advanced export, you will be able to export the translation file by yourself.

For your information you can export this file yourself by going in Application config/Technical maintenance/Advanced export. Here you should create a new export, give a name, in target model you should select MetaTranslation, in maximum export limit you can put 20000. Then you have to click on Select all fields , the will appear in the table below. If you want you can choose the fields you want in your Excel and order it. When it is done you can export the file (excel, csv or pdf).
