Is anyone else in the Kidical Mass world planning to attend the SRTS Conference (Aug 16-18) in Minneapolis, MN?
I am doing a presentation on "Building Kidical Mass; Creating Family Friendly Encouragement Events".  Anyone want to join in?

I can't make it, much as I would love to be there. Is there anything we as a network can do to help with your presentation--collect photographs, testimonials, case studies?

Why yes, it would be great to have testimonials, case studies, and stories to share! Even little quotes from kids & families.
Posting onto the Flickr group is a great way to share too, I can pull from there.
If you have other photos to share and you're not of Flickr feel free to email them directly to me.

We just posted some shots on Flickr from our Kidical Camping ride- which by the way was a BLAST and I highly recommend trying one out in your area. If you don't think there are spots that allow camping in your area you might check with some local parks that have day-use areas and ask them if they might give a special permit for a special family camping event (especially if you team up with some other organization and make it even more "educational").  We're already talking to some spots about that possibility, either for later this summer or next year. The Great American Backyard Campout is another good tie-in (fourth Saturday in June I think).

Here's a quote from one parent about this weekends ride to inspire you to send in your quotes/stories/testimonials:

"The kids an I had a fantastic time! On the way back we talked about how when you go car camping, it is all about the destination (can’t wait to get there). But this was about the journey and the destination. It also doesn’t hurt when you stop for ice cream on the way home."

Hello Shane & group,
I am writing a short article on the SRTS conference for Momentum magazine.
Please could someone attending write/tell me what you hope to get out of the experience?
Regrettably, I can't attend.
Please contact me today.
Thank you!
