This Friday- 6pm- Monroe Park- It's Kidical Mass- AAAAAARRRGH!
Not only is it Kidical Mass but it's also
National Park(ing) Day (A day to take over a parking spot and turn it into a mini-park) and National Talk Like a Pirate Day. Put the two together and you have National Paaaarking Day where you raise the old pirate flag in a parking spot, create a community park and make folks walk off the plank into traffic!
Or if you're a family, kid at heart, or someone looking for a fun, safe, & legal ride you can come out to Kidical Mass and impress us with your pirate talking skills (for help check out the
Talk Like a Pirate Day site). Maybe you'll even show up with an eye patch, a bandana, a parrot, or a sword?! Let's have fun whatever we do!

We'll be meeting at the usual Monroe Park (10th & Monroe) at 6pm and so that we can include some WATER in our ride (in honor of Pirates) I thought a little swing down by the river, over the DeFazio bridge, and onto the North side of town- say Oakmont Park, where we can stop at Trader Joes for Pirate Booty or Coldstone Creamery for a pirate treasure treat.
Map of suggested route (open to piracy or mutiny)
Avast- Helmets are super-duper highly encouraged (and legally required for the kids)- we'll be having no visits by Davy Jones!
Weigh anchor and hoist the mizzen!

PS for parents looking for a fun pirate read with the kids I highly recommend Dirty Joe the Pirate by Bill Harley, very fun! See you Friday- Arrrrr you ready?!
