Firstly to do a risk assesment properly you need an accepted accreditation whether it is an IOSH or NEBOSH, and for those interested the lesser of the two the IOSH involves a five day course plus examination if you are absolutely sure that you want to do this first write a cheque to the HSE for £3500 and I am sure that they will find a course for you to attend.

I would question any insurer that wants a written risk assesment before providing cover. If anyone has major problems I hold an IOSH certificate and will gladly give guidance to anyone that feels that they need it.
