What a topic The CRB check is become something that is a necessary
however what a great area it is, what is stright of the crb website.
The current legislation does not allow the self-employed or
individuals to apply for a CRB check on themselves. In addition,
parents who employ a nanny/au pair/babysitter directly cannot apply
for a CRB check; however, if an agency supplies the nanny/au pair/
babysitter, the agency is entitled to carry out a CRB check.
So you shouldnt do a crb check on yourself, however as soon as you
have had it done it is no longer vailid. but dont worry there is a
loop hole, you can get it done in scotland.
however although a necessary evil its not really worththe paperits

This is an absolute nightmare, I have contacted the people who issue
CRB document's for the Norfolk constabulary and they have confirmed
exactly what you have said and to make matters worse if for arguments
sake you apply for and receive documentation for a local school, hten
that is applicable for that school only, no other schools or private
individuals.

Hi steve
The CRB people have agreed with me when i spoke to them that its a
grey area for entertainers, however they themself told me that if you
have a crb check it is vaild for 3 to 5 years, you and i know this to
be incorrect and they also told me what they had just said was
incorrect upon questioning it but it is considered the norm for it to
be vailid for that time, therefore if you get one done by the school
you can use it, the problem i have is i wont to tell custermer for it
to be valid you have to get one for each job you do but who wont to
spend an additional £50 and it illegal to do it.

I have done a lot of research on the CRB check and spoke to them
dirrect many times. Any question i would be happy to answer or you can
call the shop, however you would need to speck to Robert
