Anyone got any recommendations? I'm currently in Ireland, and am
unable to book certaing halls without it. Best quote I've had here in
Ireland is 200 Euros - for ONE MONTH!

I work mainly in Ireland, but live in the UK most of the time, so I'm
thinking it may be better to get insurance from the UK to cover say, a
limited amount of shows in Europe..

Tks

Hi

thank you for the message it reminded me i need to renew my PL, i
asked towergatetehh people i use £2000000 is £80 £5000000 is £120
however if you are a uk resident they will insure you everywhere
except usa however if you are not a uk resident they wouldnt cover
you. There is also equity, i have alway chosen not to be in equity but
they give cover to all memebers.

Towergates number is however 0870 44115516 cover runs from 2/9/2008 to
1/9/2009 they policey is you ar part of a massive group of entertainer
so therefore part of a yearor a full year is the same.

hope that helps

it is very necessary to have cover though! i know too many nightmare
stories.

I would also recommend being a memeber of the FSB.org.uk this gives
you legal advice 365 days a year 24/7 this is just one of there
benifits

I personally have PLI through membership to Equity, off the top of my
head I think the cost is somewhere between 8 to 9 pounds per month and
don't forget that you also get the full backing of Equity as well as
access to their legal departmeny should you need it. I peronally think
it represents good value for money but thats a decision for you to
make.

I wnet with Barclays Insurance, as it seemed pretty reasonable at £224 for the year.  That's managable.

I am sure that it is costing me some where in the region of one hundred pounds a year including membership to equity, it is definitely under £200.
