I've used both of the Spaien tools. What these tools offer is the ability to create simple powershell-based GUIs.THey get you to draw a form, decorate it with controls, then allow you to wire-up scripts to each control. This is a very powerful way to create very simple GUIs.

I'm going to be totally blunt: I'm not really sold on PowerGUI yet. Just trying to write a simple function, and it looks like I'm going to have to copy and paste it into a powershell window manually to test it. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't even see how to run a selection, and when I try to run the entire script, it didn't add the function to the console at the bottom.

Searching the sub I see a lot of "forget ISE, get vs code!!!" posting. I have VS Code but am not seeing why people like it so much. I set it up for powershell use, and am wondering what everyone else is doing that I am not so I can possibly just save some money and switch to VS code entirely. I know it has to have something going for it for everyone to rave about it.

Is anyone using powershell studio? Would they recommend it for tool making? Can VS Code do similar things? Is POSHGUI/VS Code a good way to go? What are you seeing as the major benefits of VS Code that could help me understand how I could be using it more effectively?

An employee who worked for us some years back compiled a script for use by non-technical folk, using PowerShell studio. The original source code was lost, and we'd like to see the source code of what is running when this exe is being run.

So, In PowerShell studio I will go to the Packager Settings, and in Output settings, select the Run Mode to be Impersonate or RunAs and then enter the credentials. These credentials I specified are a service account that has enough local rights to perform the task I specified. (ex: If I want the form the reset the network stack it can be a member of the local network operators group instead of the local administrators). The credentials you specify in here are encrypted within the compiled executable.

I'm currently trying to install CCS v3.3 from my console. I'm using Windows Server 2022 and powershell for that. The installation works fine till the point, where the expected Error messages should appear. Because I'm running the Server 2022 as a Docker Container I don't have a GUI. So i can't ignore these Errors. Therefore the installer seems to be stuck at that point without an option to continue.
