Hi Everyone,

We just received word that KickSat-2 has been deployed from the Cygnus vehicle. Here is a preliminary TLE:

1 99999U 14xxxA   19044.94791667  .00078986  00000-0  25641-3 0 00009
2 99999 051.6381 254.6240 0007894 311.4200 082.7978 15.89693916000012

The KickSat-2 is transmitting telemetry data on 437.505 MHz. The telemetry packets are standard AX.25, 1200 baud FSK (not AFSK). Happy hunting!

- Zac

Hi Matt,

After some communication with JSPOC, they say it's not in the catalog yet, but they are tracking it (just sparse). Once they share that information with us, we will post any new info here

Cheers,

We (with Nils von Storch) are tracking Kicksat-2 at TUDelft ground station. Today, we were tracking Kicksat-2 during the day passes (elevations 35deg, 80deg, 55deg) and we did not see anything in the spectrum. We will be tracking again tomorrow during day passes with elevations 13deg, 51deg, 79deg and 37deg.

KickSat-2 has been assigned a catalog number of 44046.  That’s not to say they have enough data for a solution, but when available it’ll be posted under that catalog number.

There were some formatting issues with the last TLE I posted. The attached text file is a slightly tweaked version that should work with GPredict (and other tracking software).

TLE looks decent and it works with us.

Validation: The locations of Cygnus (TLE from Space-track) and Kicksat-2 are almost overlapping in the map.

It’s not in N2YO yet, but it’s on space-track.org.

It's also on Celestrack (asuming the catalog number is 44046). It appears with the name "2018-092G":
