I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.

Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.

@Heart15212 Unfortunately the PS4 and PC versions are different platforms. The up-side is I believe there are more expansions and packs for PC, so you should be able to play many more features and build items with PC base game + expansions and packs.

@melanieofficial0 I can understand your frustration. Unfortunately the PS4 and PC versions are different platforms. You will not be able to play your PS4 version of The Sims 4 on your PC. You will need a PC version of the game for that.

@Jess_is_sleepy No, sorry, your owned games can't be transferred between platforms. The PC and console versions of Sims 4 (and other games) are considered separate, so you'd need to buy everything again to play on XBox.

I have sims 4 on the xbox one and i have spent well over hundreds on the game as i have nearly completed on getting all packs possible. I would love to play the game on pc now that i have one but when looking on my account on pc it only says that i can purchase the game. i would love to know if there was a way to get the game on pc without having to buy it again even if it means not having a packs and just having the base game on pc. I love this game but have spent personally way too much on it and wish not to spend more on it.

I downloaded the sims 3 64-bit version for my macbook yesterday and i already had Seasons so i installed that one as well. I got university life today as a gift from a friend and i redeemed the code online. Now i do have the game in my library and it says that the game is 'unlocked' under the expansion packs tab for my 64-bit sims 3 game, but i cannot download it anywhere. I can only download it for the regular version of the game that doesn't work for my macbook (catalina) and if i download it from the old version of the game, it download that version of the base game as well which i don't want. Can this be fixed?

@hind114010 Are you downloading the 64-bit version of Sims 3 (or the 64-bit version of the pack), or the old one? There should be two game tiles in your Origin library, and you can't mix and match, nor can you install the 32-bit version on a system running Catalina.

Edit: @Snertkriebels I've merged your post into another thread on the same issue. You wouldn't be able to install the old version anyway in Catalina, so you'll need to wait for your new pack to be added to the 64-bit version.

I just downloaded the new Sims 3 64-bit and only two of my expansion packs (into the future, and island paradise) actually downloaded from origin into the game. I have all the other expansions and a few stuff packs. When I put in the codes for those they were redeemed, but when I look at it, it just says unlocked. There is no download button. I was wondering if there is a fix for this. I can't play in some of my old save file worlds because the expansions didn't transfer over. Please help!

@mememe18132 The entitlements, as they're called, for the 64-bit version are lagging behind at the moment. This should be fixed sooner or later, but you might have to wait a bit, unfortunately. Please see this post for more information:

I've just communicated with the EA help team via online chat yesterday, and they told me that the Katy Perry Collector's Edition of Showtime won't be coming with the rest of the expansions :/ They were also experiencing some kind of technical problems on their end and said to try again in a few days to see if they can grant me a standard edition of Showtime. Has anyone else heard something along such lines?

Sixteen expansion packs have been released for the 2014 life simulation video game The Sims 4, the fourth major title in The Sims series. All expansion packs are developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, for the Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. Expansion packs tend to focus on major new features, with many objects, clothes, styles, worlds and life states are geared towards the pack's major theme. The first expansion pack, Get to Work, was released on March 31, 2015. The most recent expansion pack, Lovestruck, was released on July 25, 2024.[16]

The Sims 4: Get to Work is the first expansion pack, announced on February 4, 2015. It was released in North America on March 31, 2015, and Europe on April 2, 2015.[17][18] It includes three new active careers; Detective, Doctor and Scientist, as well as the ability to run a retail business. The pack also features a new neighborhood called Magnolia Promenade, which is pre-populated with lots for Sims to shop at.[17] It includes elements from The Sims 2: Open for Business and The Sims 3: Ambitions.

Get to Work includes a standalone neighborhood, Magnolia Promenade. Magnolia Promenade is not a full world, and contains four lots, three of which have pre-built stores, and one empty lot that the player can build their own business on. Get to Work also includes a secret lot called "Sixam" (which is "Maxis" spelled backwards), which can be found using the wormhole generator, available at level 10 of the new Scientist career. Sixam is a great place to find some alien friends or find new collectibles.

Get to Work introduces brand new active careers, which are the main focus of the expansion.[19] These careers give the player an opportunity to follow Sims to work. When the player is following a Sim in their workplace, the player is given tasks that are needed to be completed in order to have a promotion. There are three active careers: Detective, Doctor and Scientist.[19]

The tasks that are given to the player must be completed successfully in order to gain a promotion and are always special to the career they're given in.[19] In the detective career, Sims must solve crimes by going to a crime scene and collecting clues, in order to catch the suspect, with finally interrogating them and putting to jail. In the Doctor career, Sims must cure patients that are gathering up in the lobby by making tests, making a diagnosis after collecting enough evidence of an illness, and later up in the career performing surgeries.[19] In the Scientist career, Sims can create crazy potions, gadgets, and even a wormhole generator that Sims can use to explore Sixam.[19]

In Get to Work, Sims can once again have their own retail businesses.[19] After a Sim purchases a residential or vacant lot for their retail business, they will travel to that lot. While they are on the retail lot, players have two options to manage the store. The simplest way of managing the store is through the "Owned Business Panel" located in the bottom right of the UI, next to the motives panel.[19] From this panel, players can manage a Sim's retail store as they would with a cash register. The business panel shows each lot's name, whether it is open or closed, and number of hours opened for.[19]

Customers will enter the lot and will walk to a random object or mannequin of their liking, with a bar above their head that showcases their interest to buy.[19] Getting it to the top is when the customer will decide to purchase the goods and an employee or the owner can ring them up.[19] There is a variety of retail businesses such as a photo gallery, bakery, book store, or clothing shop. Shops can sell practically any item.[19]

Sim-like playable aliens return in Get to Work.[19] Aliens are similar to those in previous games, though there are a few differences. For example, they appear roughly the same as before, but glow slightly when feeling strong emotions.[19] A notable exception is that they now have multiple skin tones, including blue, green and purple. They wear either a black, green, or grey body suit. Aliens can also wear normal Sim clothing.[19]

Aliens have exclusive interactions not available to normal Sims.[19] They can analyze personalities, empathize, erase minds and disguise themselves to look like normal Sims. At any time, players can edit and adjust how an alien will look while disguised. While disguised, an alien can appear like a normal Sim and not be spotted by Sims.[19] If a Sim figures out the alien is in disguise, the alien can erase the Sim's mind and go about their day pretending to be a normal Sim.[19]

Aliens can be created from the Create-a-Sim menu.[19] This is similar to the "Supernatural Type" button from The Sims 3: Supernatural. From Create-a-Sim, players can choose from a range of alien face presets, unique eyes, and a range of skin tones such as blue, purple and green.[19] They can also adjust the pointy ears. There is also a range of alien-like makeup which can also be used by normal Sims.

Get to Work received a score of 73/100 from review aggregator Metacritic, indicating "mixed or average reviews".[1] GameZone described Get to Work as a "decent expansion that adds new, unique experiences to The Sims 4's gameplay".[21] Digital Spy criticized the Detective career, describing it as "limited and repetitive", however he praised the other two careers.[22]
